Happy 2013, my friends! I know this is not my first post of the new year, but it is my last post of 2012 photos. I still had a few left to share with you, so that seemed like a good use of my Sunday morning!
It snowed just a few days before the end of the year, and while Doug shoveled, the girls made “Frosty.” They later explained to me that even thought they made Frosty he did not come to life because they couldn’t find a magic hat. They have decided they need to find one before it snows again.
Vada ran out to a patch of untouched snow and started making a snow angle.
I really don’t remember teaching them this. Maybe they learned that from the Christmas animation specials as well.
Of course, Kyla had to give it a go!
Angels everywhere.
In her usually helpful way, Kyla wanted to shovel along with Daddy.
Vada, however, thought there was a better use of her skills…
After the snowie fun, there was hot cocoa and cookies.
Yummy!!
For the second year in a row, the girls managed to stay up to see the new year. We spend the new year with one of Doug’s childhood friends and his family. Doug and his friend usually see each other at least once a month, and I see him a few times a year, but we really only get the two families together once a year for New Year’s Eve. It’s funny, it doesn’t matter that that is the only time we all get together, I really look forward to it every year. I would love to see them more, but I am thankful for the once a year we get. I couldn’t imagine a nicer way to welcome in the New Year!
I truly hope your first week of 2013 has been great, and that it only gets better from here!
