Here comes the sun!! Keep yourself protected with a fabulous sun hat! Here are a few in both crochet and knit. To keep your little ones safe, check out this Spring & Summer Hats for Little Ones round up over at My Hobby Is Crochet!

1) Southern and Sassy by Kathy Lashley ~ Are you ready to create Southern and Sassy and not only look elegant but feel that way too? A beautiful hat perfectly made by you to keep the sun from your face during the day and look stunning for the beachside party at night. You can use Sinfonia yarn which is 100% mercerized cotton, so the hat is light weight and cool. Using quality products like the millinery wire enables you to make a well-crafted hat where the brim will stay in place as adjusted.

2) Shine On Sun Hat by Jessie At Home ~ Here is a summer sun hat for you to make and enjoy! Keep safe and be fashionable, all at the same time. The slight stretch of the yarn helps keep the hat in place, even in the wind, and gives the brim a lovely look. I named this hat Shine On, as in Shine On You Crazy Diamond (by Pink Floyd) because of the diamonds. A sun hat with diamonds seemed to have no other possible name!

3) The Summer Elegance Edition Pineapple Lace Sunhat from The Crochet Lounge ~ With this delicious Pineapple Lace Sunhat and all the Pineapple Lace Blitz posts to ensue, I have, once again, embarked on the hat designing journey that is going to soar with personal growth — yes, indeed, everything we face vs. avoid is a point of growth! 😀 Hooray for free crochet sunhat patterns as this hat debuts in The Crochet Lounge – The Summer Elegance Edition.

4) Azealia by Kelly Menzies ~ This charming wide brimmed hat is worked in the round but don’t let that put you off. This is the perfect pattern to learn this great way of knitting items using circular needles. With the simple stitches and the relatively short pattern you’ll get the hang of knitting in the round in no time, and you’ll have the lovely Azealia to show off your new found skill!

5) Adult Spring or Easter Hat Shell Stitch Cotton Hat with Spring Blossoms by Lorene of Cre8tion Crochet ~ This lightweight adult spring or Easter hat is made with 100% cotton and is a perfect choice for Spring weather. This hat is created with dc and dc shell stitches. The brim has just a slight ruffle and the flowers are a sweet addition.

6) Windansea by Kristi Porter ~ Here is a fun knit sun hat that comes as a free bonus pattern on Amazon. No purchase necessary!

Don’t forget to check out some of the other great Round Ups that have happened in Blogland over the last week!
