I won!!

OK, it is pretty clear I did not win the community choice vote for the Stevie Nicks shawl contest. First and second place both doubled my votes, but third isn’t bad.

However, the title of this post is not a lie. You see, I won something even better then $500 (though that sure would have been nice after having to buy a new washer last week).

When the contest was announced, I had quite a few people bring it to my attention and tell me I should enter. When I did enter, people started sharing like crazy. They wrote some of the most touching things about me. Not just about this one design, but about ME, and all my designs. As much as I know that the crochet designer and blogger community that I am a part of is incredibly supportive, I still was floored to see it in action for me.

Even though this is not the first time they have come to my aid, it is still overwhelming to see that support. I know it’s what we do for each other. Whenever someone does something especially wonderful, or needs support, or is just having a bad day, we all rally together. Spread out all over the world, we are one family, as close as can be.

I spent a long time looking for a place where I fit. I realized last night that I found it. I won.

  1. Your design was beautiful and so filled with my favorite color: BLUE. I vote for you thru a link shared by Becky Dirlam and I am so glad I saw it. You touched me with your remarks here. You entered and in a way, YES, you did win. Your designs are getting so much attention. With love,

    • I think we have all won with each other. The more we help each other, the better we all do. It’s nice to have a community that sees that and takes joy in it.
