1, 2, 3, 4, can I have a little more? 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, teeeeeen I love you! All together now…
Guess where we went today?
John Lennon!!! The exhibit was in Montclair. I love going to Montclair, it’s a great city, with awesome art and stores. So it was not surprising that they ended up with the exhibit. It’s only up for the weekend.
We got up this morning, got the girls dressed in their new little dresses that my mom sent from Japan. They were so cute! You’ll see in a bit, have patience. Then we all piled into my car and drove on over to the exhibit.
It was very cool! I only wish we had $600-$25000 to spare so we could have bought a print. Oh, well, I saw it, that works for me. The girls really loved it. They were especially fond of the drawings that John created for his sons. They were so colorful and full of cute little animals and people. Here is Kyla staring intently at some of them.*obviously I couldn’t get the art in the picture, but I am always allowed to photograph my own daughter!
There was Beatles music piping through the entire exhibit. The girls have always loved the Beatles. They spent a good bit of time dancing through the rooms. Then in a very Beatles-like fashion, they decided it was time for a hug.
This was even cuter about 1 second before the picture snapped, they really were hugging, arms around each other and all. There were many “awww”s from other Lennon fans.
Afterwards, we walked across the street to have lunch outside one of the many little cafes in the area; but not before admiring the beautiful flowers out front.
From our seats we could still see the exhibit, just past the stage where various musicians were performing Beatles songs all day.
Kyla decided that Lambie and Birthday Bear needed to dance.
As if this wasn’t enough of an adventure for the day, we stopped at a block sale and an estate sale on the way home. Wanna see all my loot? It was only $13 for everything.
Oh, and there is also a VCR not pictured, but still part of the $13. Ours went kaput a few months ago, and we never bothered to get a new one.
After getting home, the girls napped for a bit. Then we had some family tickle/wrestle/tackle Daddy time. It was tons of fun.
All in all, I’d say it was quite a Good Day, Sunshine!
