A few weeks back I made a crochet version, and now here’s the knit one. So weather you knit or crochet, you can make this scarf! It is stitched in long rows with long tails left and tied together as fringe. The only stitch you need to know is the knit stitch. Enjoy!!

Getting Started
  • Read through all instructions before beginning.
  • Start and end each row with at least a 10″ tail to make long fringe.
  • Scarf is worked in rows (change direction after each row) even though it is knit on circular needles.
  • To determine how many sts to cast on make a garter stitch (knit every row) swatch that is at least 4″ long and 2″ tall. Measure 4″ inside the swatch and count how many stitches are there. Divide that number by 4 (do not round) and then multiply it by your desired length. This is your starting cast on amount.

CO to desired length, cut yarn leaving a long tail.

Row 1: With a new piece of yarn, k across, cut yarn leaving a long tail.
Repeat row 1 to desired width.
Bind off all sts.
Cut additional fringe pieces if desired and thread them through the ends of the scarf. Tie fringes together in groups of 5 to 7 then trim to desired length.
