We have finally finished opening the last of the Project 19 boxes. Those boxes kept coming all the way into February, and I wanted to wait to show you the final pile ‘o hope until they were all here and opened and hugged.

Tiniest-package-ever

Here is the tiniest package of hope that we received, and its inhabitant. Isn’t she the cutest?

whooo's-too-cute

Kyla was very excited about the Rainbow Unicorn!!

Rainbow-Unicorn!

We had been in contact with the Boys and Girls clubs of Hobokin and Jersey City. It turns out we have more softies then they need!!

still-unpacking

So we contacted the United Way of Bergan county. They are very excited about the extra softies we have!

emptying-boxes

Once the roads are a bit safer ~ Tuesday or Wednesday I am hoping ~ the girls and I will take a little field trip after school to Hobokin to drop off the softies for the Boys and Girls clubs. I will try to get some photos of the critters with their new owners.

cute-and-sleepy

It may be a few more weeks before the rest of the softies make their way to Bergan county, we are still working with the United way to find the right group to hand them off to. We want to make sure they go to the kiddies who need them because of Sandy.

Pink-plushy-monster

It sure has been fun opening all these boxes and giving every little critter some extra love.

mustache-man

The spare room (which will one day be Kyla’s room) will be so empty!

Pile-o-monsters

It seems like the last batch of boxes was heavy on the monsters. We love the monsters in this house! The girls used to have imaginary Monsters who lived in their closet and came out to play with them at night.

yummy-from-Hawaii

Look at this! Sometimes there is extra love just for me in a box. Oh, my, these were yummy! I shared a few with the kids and the husband, but only a few :^)

monster-love

As I said, lots of monsters.

Strawberry-girl!

And a strawberry girl as well!

adding-more-love

Everyone is given extra love and hugs to bring with them to their new kids.

circus-elephant!!

This elephant is pretty high on my list of  “it’s~really~going~to~be~hard~to~give~this~one ~away!”

363-softies-full-of-love

We opened another 131 softies

pile-of-Craft-Hope-19

That makes 371 all together!!

It’s been a blast! Thank you

106!! Craft Hope 19

With all the … life … happening in my life lately, I am rather late in sharing the last Craft Hope box opening adventure.

Craft-Hope-19-Sock-Critters

There were two full boxes that contained a total of 44 of these little sock beenie critters. Many of them came with cards stating the name of the critter, and the first name and hometown of the creator.

Craft-Hope-19-Sock-Cheeky-Box

This is my favorite box so far. I couldn’t wait for the girls to open it!

Craft-Hope-19-Cheeky-Kitty

There was much joy as all the boxes were opened.

In addition to the sock beanie critters, there were another 27 lovable characters unpacked. That brings the total to 106.

Of course, it took me so long to post these photos that there is another large pile of boxes waiting to be opened again. Sooo…more to come another day.

Thank you to each and every one of you who have sent us some love for Sandy victims.

Once again I have teamed up with the amazing Craft Hope! The new web page is still under construction, but the Facebook page is running smoothly. So hop on over to the Craft Hope Facebook page and give them a “like.” Then check out Project 19 :: Dolls, Animals, and Monsters. Oh My! Share it with anyone you know who may be able to make handmade softies for kids who lost so much from Sandy. There are two people collecting for this project, the lovely Katrina up in NH, and yours truly.

Owlet-Lovey-Process-Photo-5

I am working on a tutorial for you all for one possible hand made goody to help spread hope. I am aiming for putting that post up tonight or tomorrow.

Owlet-Lovey-Process-Photo-8

I am also collecting links for other free patterns of any kind (knit, crochet, sewing…) for softy ideas. Feel free to reply to this post or the one on the Facebook page with suggested links. I would like to get that post up tomorrow or Saturday. I put a link to that post over on the right side of this blog, and will continue to update it as I get more links.

Owlet-Lovey-Process-Photo-13

I also have several other patterns and tutorials in the works. I am hoping to have many fun posts for you all coming soon! So, as you can see, things are a bit busy around here. This Sunday I have an art sale, and next Thursday and Friday I have the Holiday Gift Shop at the girls’ school.

Kyla's-Rapunzel-hair

This morning Kyla wanted “Rapunzel hair” so this is what I gave her. She was quite happy. She then treated me to the “apple dance” when she saw I had bought more apples at the grocery store yesterday. I’ve never seen a child so happy about apples.

Talk to you soon, my friends. In the meantime, spread some HOPE!!!

Lots of monkeying around here lately. We are working on sock monkeys for the current Craft Hope project. These little guys will be going to children who lost their homes in the Texas wildfires.
