Deco Foil Tutorial & Review from Jessie At Home

Hello all, I have a fun tutorial for you today featuring Deco Foil. Here is a list of what you will need with links to where you can find the items:
Deco Foil
Deco Foil Foam Adhesive Sheet
Card Stock
Glue Dots
Button
Pin Back
Hot Glue Gun
Cutting machine or scissors

Start off with your Deco Foam Adhesive Sheet. You’ll notice it has a sticker peel-off on both sides because both sides of the foam are sticky. Peel off one side (it doesn’t matter which) and adhere it to card stock. This will allow you to shape the final flower piece.

Stick Foam to Card Stock

Now it’s time to cut out the flowers. I used my Cricut, but you can use any cutting machine you have, or even some scissors. I cut out a 3″ flower and a 2 1/4″ flower.

Cut out flowers

Now pick your foil  for the larger flower. You will just need a small amount, so just pull out one sheet.

Choose your foil

Peel the sticker backing off the foam flower and place it down on the wrong side of the foil. Press down firmly.

Stick flower to back of foil

Flip the whole thing over so you are looking at the right side of the foil and use your fingers to press the foil firmly again. Now carefully peel off the flower. If you miss any pieces of foil just place the foil back on and repeat the process.

Ready for Smaller Flower

Now do the same thing with the smaller flower!

Two flowers ready

Once you have both flowers done, use your fingers to curl the petals upwards. Then use the glue dots to attach the 2 flowers together and to add the button. Use hot glue to attach the pin back.

Flower Pin

Ta-Da!!!

I was very pleased with the Deco Foil and Adhesive Foam. I had no problem getting the foil to stick to the foam. I’m thinking of some other great uses for the foil as well. There are several kinds of adhesives for the foil, such as a glue pen that allows you to write a message and then foil it! I really like this line of products, it’s a great way to add a little something extra to so many different crafts.
