A review of the fun new book, Felt Christmas Decorations by Corinne Lapierre. Plus one copy to a lucky winner of the giveaway!
The book reviewed in this post was provided by Search Press.
Felt Christmas Decorations by Corinne Lapierre is a great book full of…well…felt Christmas decorations. They are all very sweet and easy to make. Most of them can be made in an evening, and all can be made while relaxing in front of a warm fire or the TV.
Corienne starts her book with an introduction that includes a bit about wool felt. You do want to use a good wool felt for these projects, as they are sure to become family treasures and you want them to last! Some projects include ric rack, buttons, or other trim, but many can be made with just the felt and some embroidery floss.
I decided to give a project a go, and I landed on the reindeer from the front cover. They are just so cute! I didn’t make the little circle on the sides, just because I wanted a plane reindeer. I was very happy with the template and the pattern. The instructions were easy to follow and the project was simple to make. The final result was wonderful. I may give it a ribbon collar and make it an ornament.
There are quite a few patterns in the book, and they really do offer a variety. There are ornaments, table top decorations, buntings, and even a stocking. There is something for every style. The colors in the book are very Scandinavian in feel, but you can use any colors that make you happy!
It is assumed that you have basic hand stitching and embroidery skills to make most of these projects. But as long as you do, you’ll be able to make everything in this book with no problem.
