Four Sixths Wrap

Crochet Pattern
Easy Skill Level
Designed by Jessie Rayot

I really love math. I’ve found it to be very useful as a designer, especially geometry. So, this pattern is named for its shape: it’s four sixths of a hexagon, which makes a great shape for a wrap! Enjoy some math and keep the chill off with this lovely Four Sixths Wrap made with Kreamer Yarns!

  1. How can we search your archives? Looking through each month requires more time than I have, and I’m retired!

    • There is a search bar on the top left, plus menu items across the top, and you can go to the ravely link at the top of the page to see all the patterns. What were you looking for?

  2. I’m excited to find this shawl. I’ve spent a lot of time trying to find the right one. But, I can’t get past Row 1. There aren’t enough stitches. I’m new to crochet, so I don’t know enough about making a pattern work for me. Should there be 7 chains and not 6?

  3. Any chance you could add stitch counts and/or a chart for the first few rounds? I am struggling with all the skips and the start-of-row chains that count as both a stitch and a chain-space. There never seem to be enough stitches and spaces to work into. Thanks!

  4. This might be too much of a pain, but could you possibly include stitch counts for rows 7-40? I feel like on the odd rows, the number of hdc should double, but I’m mysteriously coming up short, even though row 6 has the requisite 52 hdcs (my row 7 as 44 hdc). I’m not sure if I’m skipping stitches, or mathing wrong. Any input would be appreciated, thanks.

    • Each even numbered row is 16 stitches more than the previous even numbered row. The pattern increases 1 at the start of the row, 2 at each of the 3 corners, and 1 more at the end of the row. I just checked the stitch counts against the sample and they were wrong. I’ve corrected them now. There was also a typo in row 3. I’m not sure how no one’s noticed that before.

  5. I’m just starting and wonder if you finish off each color at the end of every 2 rows or if the colors are carried along. Thanks for the pattern for this lovely shawl. I hope to make several for my granddaughters in college and for work.
