We got our JCPenney gift card! We all had a great time shopping for kid’s clothes. So. Much. Fun.

I received my $100 gift card from JCPenney  that I told you about the other day. Talk about timing, the UPS guy was leaving as Doug was getting home. So then we excitedly hopped into the car and drove off to the mall to get some kid’s clothes! For free!

Kyla and Vada were all ready to go buy some pretty clothes! Aren’t they cute with the little purses their Aunt Aly bought them?

We got into the store and went to check the map. No map. Bummer. There was a list of departments and what floor each was on. So we headed up the escalator to the toddler section. Once there we discovered we had to head back down to the regular shoe department for toddler shoes. The shoes were a big disappointment. The selection wasn’t all that great, and the prices weren’t great either. We decided we would do much buying shoes at Payless and just getting clothing from JCPenney.

So back up the escalators we went. The girls were having a great time of it. Up, Down, Up, Down. Finally to the dresses. We wanted some cute dresses that would work for Christmas. We found this adorable selection of dresses in good colors for Christmas.

The girls enjoyed helping us look. We found 2 great dresses (pictures of the girls in all of their new clothes will be in a future post.) Then we headed on over for some play clothes. There was a great selection of extremely cute play/everyday wear. Mostly Arizona and Okie Dokie. If we didn’t already have so much clothing from hand-me-downs I think we would have spent way more then the gift card. We ended up choosing two more outfits for each of them, one with a skirt and one with pants.

Oddly enough, as we were traveling through the toddler section, we found some slip on shoes. There was a small selection of shoes that were on uber-clearance, and there were some marked as $3.17. We found two pair the were just barely big on the girls and grabbed them. We will still need to get them sneakers, but these are a cute alternative to sandals when it is warmish out. Finally we grabbed a few packs of underwear, as we are planning on potty training after our vacation.

We headed on over to check out thinking we may be a few dollars over on the card. The cashier rung everything up, and then scanned a sale coupon. BONUS!!! We were now $13 under the card. Oh, no, we have to buy more!

How about some cute hair accessories. You know no one in the store knew where to find them? Either they don’t have little girl hair accessories (I was fine with the kind made for the 10ish age range, but no luck) or no one knows where to find them. Eventually a very helpful employee sent us to this section of goodies. We found a few things that would work ~ two of those flowers you see at the top right and a pack of headbands. Off to checkout, and we cleaned out the gift card. We had to pay $0.05 out of pocket. Pretty cool!

Once we got to the car we decided to run over to Fridays for some lunch.

All in all, it was a great day. We were really surprised at how much we were able to get. I will put up another post this evening with pictures of the girls in all their new lovelies, and a total of what we spent on everything and how much we saved.
