Last week, several of my friends and colleagues posted free crochet and knit patterns with French themes along with info on how you can help out in the wake of the Paris attacks. I have put together a round up of those patterns, along with a few other patterns that fit into the theme. At the end of the round up, you will find a list of ways you can help.
Here are the names and links of each pattern, along with a little something that each designer has to say about them.
1) Fierté ~ crochet pattern by Pia Thadani
This easy, somewhat slouchy, hat pattern features a wide band with a French flag detail.
2) French Flag Graph ~ crochet pattern by Creative Threads by Leah
My design is a French flag graph to insert into my free drink sleeve pattern. It can also be inserted into the pattern for my arm corset. This graph can also be used in other patterns and can even be used for knit, cross stitch, perler beads and other crafts.
3) Evens and Odds Knit Mitered Coasters ~ free knit pattern by Jessie At Home
While playing around with mitered squares to make coasters, I realized they could be made with an even or odd number of stitches, depending on how the decreases are made. So, rather than making that choice for you, I thought I would write a double pattern for you today.
4) Striped Can Cozy ~ free crochet pattern by Jessie At Home
This simple cozy pattern works on a can or bottle, and can be made as short or tall as you desire.
5) Patriot Square Crochet ~ crochet pattern by American Crochet
This coaster is quick and fun to make. You can even give these as gifts.
6) Paris Fort Cap ~ by Lisa McFetridge
The Grande Arche, the Eiffel Tower, the Pantéon, Notre Dame, Sacré Coeur and the Arc de Triomphe circle the cap. Make one or many, the pattern is free with the request for a donation to the charity of your choice.
7) knit hairband pattern ~ knit pattern by Crafting in Yoohooville
This pattern is infinitely alterable, making creativity part of its fun

This is really cool. I am a French teacher and a crocheter and I was looking for some French-themed patterns. Thank you for sharing!
