This January I was honored with being asked to review a Furls Crochet hook! I chose the Alpha Series hook, size J in Bloodwood. I’ve been using it on my worsted weight yarn projects.
The first thing I noticed was the comfort. It was like I had no choice but to hold the hook in a comfortable way, it just fit in my hand like that. I couldn’t hold it too tight, either, so there was no stress on my hands from a tight grip. Once I begun crocheting, everything remained smooth and easy.
It took a bit to get used to the shallow hook, I’m used to deep hooks, so I dropped a few stitches at first. Once I got used to it, though, there were no more dropped stitches. The hook is a joy to use, and keeps my hand feeling happy and healthy. The neck length is long enough for taller stitches as well.
Overall, I have discovered that Furls Hooks are everything they are advertised to be. They are easy on my hands, they crochet well, they are works of art, and they just make me happy.
