Doug is back at work today. We had a very nice week and a half with him home. The girls were so happy to spend so much time with their daddy. I know I neglected you during that time. I’m sure you understand, though. So here is my rather delayed Christmas post.
We started the morning with present opening at home in the PJs. First we gave the girls their stockings, and they had tons o’ fun!
Kyla reached into her stocking to get some of the goodies out.
Vada really dove into it! She wasn’t letting a single present get away from her.
Here we have Vada showing off two very popular gifts. They each got a candy cane full of M&Ms. The M&Ms were dispensed by Daddy for snack time over the next few days. We defiantly have a couple of chocoholics! The little toy Vada is showing off is a funky little ball that lights up when you throw it. They each got one in their stockings, and they are quite the hit!
They also got two little trains that ending up being very well loved! Look how happy Kyla is with hers.
Just a little unwrapping fun here.
Vada LOVES Daddy’s juggling ball. He got three of them in his stocking. The girls love to watch him juggle, then they try themselves. It’s very adorable and funny.
The magnetic drawing boards are proving to be the very favorite present for both the girls. They love to draw, but they don’t care about keeping the drawings, so the little eraser bar gets tons of use. I love that they can’t draw on anything other then the screen!
My parents sent Doug and I each Kimonos. Doug’s is an over Kimono, kind of like a suit jacket to us westerners. It’s a beautiful silk with a neat picture panel inside.
Here’s a closer look at the picture panel inside.
Mine is a blue and white Kimono with a wide belt band ~ not an Obi. Obi’s are wider and VERY difficult to tie.
Mine had a little piece of patterned fabric hand stitched inside, also.
Doug gave me some bad vampire movies ~ OK, I’m a bit odd, but I loved the gift!
In the afternoon we went to Doug’s family’s for Christmas with them. A red nose appeared from somewhere and Vada decided it would be fun to wear.
Even while being changed into her PJs, she still had to have that nose!
