I will build a box around you.
They were helping Mommy “make something.”
Vada was especially fond of the box. Even after Kyla got bored and went off to color, Vada had to stay in the box.
If you’re wondering, the box was actually made as a home for all my new tools, not for Vada.
Here it is all finished and stained. I am so glad I bought a router. Isn’t it pretty?
And here we have Mommy’s toy box in it’s home with all of Mommy’s new toys inside.
Lots of woodworking going on over here. I know I said I would show you the bed. So here it is almost finished. There are four plywood pieces that lay inside to support the mattress ~ we will be getting a futon for it, as a futon is easier to move and store. It has also been stained, but only a few days ago because we had to go back and get a different stain color. I thought the first one we picked was too orange. You can see it on the tool box. It’s a fine color, but for the bed I wanted something a little richer.
I took some of the scraps and some of my basket supplies and made this little seat basket.
See, it opens up and I have been storing my current crafty projects in there.
Here you can see that I even gave it straps to carry it around. When not in use I just tuck them inside the basket.
Oh, and not to leave the little ones out; I made a home for their horsies with half a poster tube, a wood plaque I had sitting about, and some brackets. I tossed some scrap fleece around it and the girls were in love.
Remember how I said Kyla got bored of making the box with Mommy and went off to color? Well, eventually I had to make Vada get out of the box, too. She put up quite an argument about it and ended up getting sent to her room for a few minutes to cool off. When she came out she went over to color with Kyla. A minute later she came up to me and said, “I angry at you,” and handed me this:
I was very impressed.
There were a few more snaps on the camera when I loaded all these crafty ones, so I figured I would share them, too.
This is what happens when you give Kyla blackberries. She eats the “bubbles.”
Vada built this tower for me the other day, and was very proud of it. “It not fall over,” she proclaimed.
I had to test her theory and asked her to put it on the table.
I LOVE the freedom of children’s minds. To her this was not a cheat, there are no rules in playing. If she wants that side to be the bottom, then it’s the bottom.
Of course, Kyla had to get in on the photo snapping.
One more. This is what I saw when I opened the door to get the girls up the other day. That’s Kyla, fast asleep.
Well, that’s all for now. Time to get the little ones up and greet the day.
