Getting Started:
The Boutique Fur yarn can be a challenge to work with due to all the fur. Just take your time.
It is important to use the long tail cast on so that the trim ends up the right size, if you are unsure how to do so, check out this video.

To make i~cord: move 3 sts onto a double point needle, * do not turn, slide sts to left end of needle, K1, pull yarn tight, K2, repeat from * to desired length.
If you would like to replace the i~cord with a crochet chain, that would work as well.

Rnd 1: K1, K2tog, K2tog.
Slip all 3 sts onto double pointed needles and continue by making i-cord for 19 rounds. Cut yarn, fasten off, and weave in all ends.

Make a pom pom with the Boutique Fur yarn and attach it to the bottom of the i-cord. Here’s a tutorial to help.

Wear or give and enjoy!

  1. I don’t see in the pattern where the boutique fur is used for anything other than casting on, yet the photo shows a fairly wide band of fur at the base of the hat. Am I missing something?

      • I too am confused with how to continue with the cuff of the hat as the instructions state to cast on using the boutique fur yarn and then instructs to continue with Color B (white). Is the Boutique Fur yarn Color A or Color B?

          • Sorry for being such a bug but do you combine the fur yarn with the White yarn (Color B) and then make the cuff of the hat? I just don’t get that casting on using the fur yarn you work the next row using the White (Color B). Am I supposed to knit several rows with the fur yarn before switching to the white? Thank you for your patience by the way!

          • No, you use the long tail cast on with the fur yarn and that makes the fur trim, then you move onto the white yarn. That’s all.

    • Just turn the rounds into rows. Make the first row and all odd rows as written, then with the even rows switch all knits to purls and all purls to knits. Then seam.

  2. I’m afraid I don’t understand the instructions about finishing off. After rnds 58-60 is says to finish off for toddler? If I’m knitting the Child size small, do I need to continue onto round 53?

  3. Thank you kindly for your reply! I tried starting off the hat but it doesn’t instruct on how to knit the cuff of the hat using the polar boutique fur yarn. After casting on the amount of stitches I need, do I then switch to the white yarn (Color B) or do I continue using the boutique fur yarn? I am a bit confused there!
