Loop Crochet Review from Jessie At HomePin

This past January I was given a Learn to Loop Crochet kit to take a look at. I finally had the chance recently, so I grabbed some yarn and the kit and got started.

Ready to learn loop crochetPin

I started at the beginning of the booklet and worked through every page to the first pattern, I wanted to learn it all! I found the instructions to be clear, and the illustrations to be very helpful! Every time I had even a slight question, there was an image to show exactly what I needed to do. I was surprised to see that multiple stitches could be made. The booklet teaches ch, sc, hdc, dc, and even slip stitch, I was very impressed!

The booklet includes several patterns, and I decided to give the coaster a shot. I’m glad that is what I chose, because it is really a sampler of the various stitches you can make. There is even a section of linen/moss stitch, which is one of my favorites.

Here is the finished coaster. Not bad for my first go!

Loop crochet is certainly different from regular crochet. If you know how to crochet you have the advantage of knowing what the finished stitches should look like and it will be even easier to follow the instructions. However, you do not need to know how to crochet to be able to loop crochet. Everything you need to know is included in the booklet. I found loop crochet to be relaxing and fun, once I got the hang of it. You can pick up your own kit HERE, and use the coupon code ART15 for 15% off!!!

  1. I just purchased that same kit. I can make a chain; but, I didn’t find the instructions very helpful on going from the chain to actually making rows. The back of the booklet indicates that I can go to the Leisure Arts web site for step by step videos; but, I did not find any. Your coaster turned out really nice.
