Happy Monday my friends! Have you ever found yourself on the website for FiberWild? It’s a yarn shop owned by Sean and Amy Loberg. Well, a yarn shop and so much more. I had the pleasure of meeting Sean at the summer ’15 TNNA trade show. Sean contacted me about a week ago, asking if I could help him get the word out on a new venture on the FiberWild site. When he told me about the venture, it sounded like something you would all love, so I told him I’d love to share the details with you!

FibreWild now has a “Make Along” (MAL) Connection. “Make Along” is a term used to encompass both Knit Alongs and Crochet Alongs, as Sean feels both knit and crochet should be catered to by yarn shops. It’s too bad I don’t live close to Galena, Illinois, I’d sure love to hang out in the shop! As for the Make Along Connection, it’s still growing and in its early stages, but Sean says “Over time, we hope that this section of our website becomes the destination for knitters and crocheters to “shop” for a KAL/CAL, and get all the supplies and support they need to compliment “Alongs”. Lots of great ideas here, this is just the beginning!”

FiberWild MAL Connection

I don’t know about you, but I think this sounds pretty neat. From what I understand, it will become a directory for KALs and CALs all over the net. That part is still in the works, but there is still lots of fun to be had now.

As for now, there are a few MALs listed at the “Make Along” Connection; including the Shaded Love Shawl “Make Along” with Lorna Miser (as in Lorna’s Laces). The MAL includes a CAL kit and a KAL kit, so knit or crochet, you are covered!!

Lorna Miser "Make Along"Pin

The Lorna Miser Make Along starts Thursday, Oct. 8th, so there is still time to get the yarn before it starts, and even if you get a bit of a late start, you can always catch up! It is a Progressive MAL … four weekly installments, Oct. 8, 15, 22, and 29; each week, the next portion of both the knit and crochet shawl patterns are released.
The kit includes awesome, custom color yarn from Zen Yarn Garden to create your shawl, and the knit or crochet pattern comes free with the kit. There will be ongoing Support on Ravelry also!
