{Mix·ol·o·gy}

OK, that’s just fun to type. I’m so proud of myself for figuring out how to get those little dots in there.

Did you enjoy my free pattern on Thursday? I certainly enjoyed making it, and I just LOVE wearing it. I feel all fashionable and fun. Well, the journey to that pattern all started about a month ago when I received a lovely package from Red Heart Yarns.

I fell immediately in love. {Mix·ol·o·gy} consists of 3 yarns: Solids and Prints, which are both super bulky 3~ply yarn, and Swirl, which is a super bulky and…fluffy… yarn. Swirl is sort of like a loose roving spun with a thread to hold it together. They all come in a variety of colors which coordinate with each other. And another super~cool thing: they are all the same gauge!! That means that you can switch them around with each other in any pattern that uses {mix·ol·o·gy} yarn.

I really enjoyed using these yarns. It was very hard for me to leave them on the shelf while I finished up some other things I had going. Once I picked them up, I didn’t stop ’till my hat was done. Then I proceed to wear the hat until it was time to go to bed. I think Doug fully expected me to sleep in it that night. The yarn is very soft, making it great for anything that touches the skin, like a hat. I’m sure it would also be super cuddly and warm and soft as a blanket. I think it would make a perfect couch blanket for reading, watching TV, or knitting or crocheting on a cold evening.♥
