Oh soot!

Well, it’s been quite a week over here. Last Monday there was a bit of a home improvement snafu. On Thursday I made a video to tell you about it and to show you around my basement as it was at that moment. Please excuse the shaky view of a hammer at the beginning while I ramble on (and the misspelling of shaky on the video, it’s been a long week).

So, I will share some of those sooty photos with you next week, along with other photos I have been taking along the way, and an update. In the meantime, check out Unicorn Fibres, they rock!! I’ve cleaned most of the yarn by now and it is all pretty and smells really great. I’ll share more details on that later as well.

Here is one shot of the soot. The paper on the clipboard was pure white and clean on Monday morning.

  1. Oh wow Jessie I can so relate to what you are going through, my family room in the basement had a flood 4 yrs. ago and in the spring we finally got new carpet in. I have been going through pretty much everything and transferring everything back downstairs from our 2nd bedroom to my craft room and family room. It’s taking me a while to do this as I need to figure out what I want and need to keep and what needs to go. Can’t wait to see pics as you transform your basement back to your craft room.

  2. Jessie, you are amazing! I have a few “lemons” in my life right now that could do with your enthusiasm! I am really looking forward to the transformation of your workspace, and thank you for giving me a “spark” of “maybe I could do that too with my space” and turn this whole batch of lemons into yummy lemonade!

    • Jen ~ I know you can turn your lemons to lemonade!! You’ve had a lot to deal with this year, and I have ALWAYS been impressed with your kind spirit and your ability to keep going. You know how to reach me if you ever need and ear. <3
