Plymouth Yarn Anne yarn review from Jessie At HomePin

This winter I visited Plymouth Yarn’s booth at TNNA and was lucky enough to go home with 2 skeins of one of their new yarns: Anne. When I was looking through the booth, Anne just really called to me. There was something about it that made me know it would be lovely in crochet. Plus, the variegated and solids pair up very nicely together.

Here are the Plymouth Yarn stats for Anne:
Contents: 100% Cotton / Machine Wash, Machine Dry
Gauge: 7 sts = 1″ / US 3 Needle; 5.5 sc = 1″ / D Hook
Yardage: 371 yards / 100g
Weight(s): Fingering

As you can see, it is a fingering weight cotton yarn, and if you take a moment to look at the colors, you’ll see they are very happy colors that lend themselves to many projects. The images in the photo collection at the top of this post are all free patterns made with Anne yarn. With the exception of the baby dress, they can be found on the Plymouth site.

The baby dress is called Grace and Charm, and it’s today’s free crochet pattern here on Jessie At Home. You can find the free pattern HERE. It was inspired (and named after) my little cousin due to enter this world this summer. The colors and the fiber of this yarn are just perfect for a summer baby! The yarn was easy to work with. It was soft to crochet, and is soft as a finished item. There was plenty for the dress, with enough left for a hat and maybe even booties. After finishing the dress, I gave it a rinse in a yarn rinse and laid it flat to dry. Not a speck of dye colored the water, and the dress came out as bright as before the rinse, which bodes well for the colorfastness of Anne. I’m sure Grace will be bright and beautiful in many wearings of this little dress. She should be able to put it on her own daughter one day, and it should be just as bright then as it is now. I was quite happy with this lovely yarn.

Anne is not currently available on Amazon, and the Plymouth site does not sell direct to customers. This is a local Yarn Store yarn. Plymouth does have a “find a shop” search to help you find their yarns locally or from online vendors. You can find that search HERE.
