Raised Stripes Scarf

Crochet Pattern
Intermediate Skill Level
Designed by Jessie Rayot

This scarf gets its name from the front post stitches running down it. The scarf is created with several sets of a front post followed by a back post, all with regular hdc stitches in between. This makes the scarf fully reversible, looking the same on both sides! The texture of this scarf creates a fun look for any age. There are many photos of finished scarves to help you come up with color and stripe ideas. Make a set with the fun Raised Stripe Hat!

133 g/240 yds total in scarf
Hook J/10 6.0mm
4.5″ x 45″

Getting Started:

To make this scarf wider by increments of about 1.5″, add on 5 (10, 15, 20) chains to the starting row, which will also increase your dc count by 5 (10, 15, 20). For Row 2, add 1 (2, 3, 4) more repeats. This will also increase how much yarn you use.

Scarf Pattern:

Row 1: Ch 22, dc in 3rd ch from hook and in each remaining ch. (20 dc)

Row 2: Ch 2 (counts as first hdc), bpdc, [fpdc, bpdc, hdc in each of the next 3 sts] 3 times, fpdc, bpdc, fpdc, hdc in last st (the last st is actually the last ch made at the start of row 1). (21 sts)

Row 3: Ch 2 (counts as first hdc), bpdc, [fpdc, bpdc, hdc in each of the next 3 sts] 3 times, fpdc, bpdc, fpdc, hdc in last st (the last st is actually the turning chain of the previous row). (21 sts)

Repeat row 3 until desired length is reached.

Weave in ends. Wear or give and enjoy!!
