Beep. Bloop. Blip!! This yarn is out of this world!

I meet the super fun ladies of Space Cadet at the last TNNA trade show. As soon as I met them, I knew they were my kind of gals! Not only were they just spectacularly enjoyable to be around, but the little samples they had to give out included a temporary tattoo with their cute little alien logo. Do you want a sample skein and tattoo of your own? Come to the Yarn and Wine Tasting 2016, there is one in every goodie bag!!

[pullquote width=”700″ float=”center”]At SpaceCadet®, we passionately believe that knitting and crocheting make people happier, deep down inside, and that nothing does that more than working with gorgeous, vibrant yarn.
For us, dyeing is a cosmic adventure. We start with high quality yarns and luxurious fibers — merino wool, silk, linen, and bamboo — to begin the wonderful process of mixing our dyes by hand and seeing where the colour takes us. The result is yarn and fiber that is as exciting to work with as it is for us to create.
Started as a one-woman operation in 2010, we have grown to a small team that is proud to mix every colour from primaries, dye every skein individually, and to get to know our customers and club members personally.[/pullquote]

The sample I received included a yellow and gray variegated of Oriana: a fingering weight yarn 90% superwash Merino, 10% Nylon. I used it the other day to make a flower bracelet.

The colors are stunning. I looked through some of the other colors from the samples they sent for the Yarn and Wine Tasting, and they are all really nice. I love the combinations they choose for the variegateds. They clearly are keeping up with the current color trends, which is a great thing!

The yarn itself is nice as well. This one didn’t have as much twist as I’m used to, but I liked the finished results. You can see in the picture that the individual plys are more obvious because of the low twist. It works really well in the flower I made. I haven’t given a lot of their yarns a go yet, as they are still new to me (but I plan to rectify that!) so I can’t speak to the twist on the other yarns.

Space Cadet has a few Club options on their site. I really like the Mini-Skein club. You get five 20g mini-skeins each month, and you can choose every month or every other month (awesome for those on a budget). If you want, you can even choose a double subscription to get 2 of that month’s set each month – play with a friend and save some money! You can see all the details here.

Show Space Cadet some love!!
