Swing, Swing, Swing

I am working on getting into the new swing of things around here. I have been much more busy, but very happy. It is a lot of fun working with yarn companies and publications!

After taking the littles to school, I spend the school day in the basement, working on patterns and samples, and paperwork. OK, the paperwork is not tons of fun, but the rest is! Usually about twice a week I do have to go our for errands, such as grocery shopping, or running over to the Girl Scout Council, but that only takes an hour or two in the morning.

After picking up the littles from school, we have homework time, and cuddle/play/fun time together. Of course there is making and eating dinner that needs to happen. I get a little bit of time after dinner and before the girls go to bed to get some housework done. Then there is getting ready for bed time, and tucking in/kissing goodnight time.

By now it is nearly 8pm. I always have some sort of “living room project” on my couch. Usually something for a friend, or a new pattern I am playing with, or something free for the blog. The new Fadded Ripple blanket was my living room project last week.

I tend to spend the evening working on my living room project, writing my next blog post (OK, I need to get back into doing that more, but I have been having so much fun making new creations!!!) and trying to keep up with all my social media “stuff.” At some point, most nights just at the girls’ bed time or slightly after, Doug comes home. He likes to just sit down and unwind by watching TV after his long day, but often we do take some time to chat. Usually I end up putting down my project while we chat, because our chats often require enough thought and attention that I can not multitask during them. Yes, this is good, I like that small amount of time I get each evening to have adult conversation.

So, as you can see, my days are full! I have been getting a lot done, but I still have to get a bit more organized, so things do not fall through the cracks.

On another note, I do have some fun snaps from Sunday for you.

No, Sunday was not some sort of special day, it was just a day when we were all home. OK, that does make it special around here!

When the girls got up, they both put on pretty dresses. They dressed up because I had told them that we could go out for ice cream on Sunday. How cute is that?

So at about 11am, we all walked over to the farmer’s market to do a bit of shopping, then we stopped for ice cream on the way home. It was a nice afternoon. And yes, the girls had ice cream for lunch. They are 6, sometimes ice cream for lunch is needed.

While at the farmer’s market, we picked up a few mini pumpkins. Once we were home, the girls painted them. Kyla made Rapunzel.

Vada made a “spooky, freaky” pumpkin. Vada LOVES Halloween.

Later, Kyla took out the blocks and made a VERY tall tower. She was quite proud of her creation.

W e also picked up some multi~color bell peppers at the farmer’s market. We had them raw as a side dish with dinner. When they are that fresh and pretty, it is a shame to cook them! The deep red one was really yummy!

Kyla’s Octie blanket had been in the basement since I got back from the show. After all the attention it got from the design competition, I needed to write a pattern for it, and use it for color planning.

I finally gave it back to Kyla on Sunday, and she was oh~so~happy! She cuddled it for the rest of the evening and then brought it upstairs with her at bedtime. It has been on her bed ever since.

Well, that is all I have for you tonight, my friends.
