Gradient Crochet Pattern Round Up

I’ve been seeing more and more gradient and ombre patterns popping up lately, and I love it! I’m quite fond of the way they can subtly move from one color into the next, so that you often can’t even notice where the changes happened! There are many ways to achieve this look, from a yarn that does it for you, to pacts of yarns made to work together as a gradient, to picking out the yarn colors on your own. I have searched around and found several examples of these fun color changes for this week’s round up!

Sometimes I get on kicks with my crochet, and currently I’m on a cable kick. I just love the texture and fun designs they create. There are several ways to make crochet cables, the most common of which is post stitch cables. Once you get the idea of how to make them down, they’re actually pretty easy! Unique Shapes Crochet Pattern Round Up

In the past few years I’ve noticed a lot more patterns in unique shapes. Sure, most fall into the traditional shapes we’ve always seen in crochet, but there are several new shapes coming about. I’ve searched around and found some of those unique patterns to share with you this evening.

Here are the names and links of each pattern, along with a little something that each designer has to say about them.

Off-white dress form in a lightweight chevron crochet wrap with alternating rows of solid stitches and lacy open stitches which accentuate the chevrons. The wrap is made with thick strips of light and medium blue yarn separated by thin stripes of coral yarn. The wrap is draped over one shoulder then tucked under the opposite arm.

The Christina Wrap is a light and lacy chevron wrap I designed and made for my future sister~in~law with a silk/wool fingering weight yarn.

Chain Slip – Twisted and Twirled MCAL #3

The third necklace in the Twisted and Twirled Crochet necklace series is made using slip stitch crochet and chain stitches. It has 6 full twists in it, creating a beautiful spiral of color. The Chain Slip necklace can be worked up in no time with less than 50 yards of sport weight yarn.

Centered Double Crochet (CDC): Crochet Stitch Tutorial

The centered double crochet, or in line double crochet is a variation of the double crochet. The placement of the stitch is changed slightly so that the stitches are all lined up on top of each other.

Wednesday Round Up ~ Crochet Tops

Crochet tops can span from a lacey overtunic to a warm sweater and so many items in between. So grab your hook and yarn and get ready for some wardrobe additions!

Spider Stitch

I love the Spider Stitch! I have been using it for years, but I only just learned the name. It creates a fabric that drapes nicely, without being open or lacey. Would you like to learn?
