Marvel Fluxx is a recent addition to our game collection. It travels well so we brought it with us to our Florida vacation. I will share all about our trip in a few future posts. Today I have some photos and stories of our time in the Marvel section of Universal Florida.

Middle School beginnings and more to come – Selfie Sunday
Middle school beginnings can be so rough, but I am super happy to say the twins are handling it like champs! They have great friends and great attitudes. We’ve had some bumps that are typical at their age, but we are working through them. Every night ends with “I love you”, and every morning starts with “good morning.” So I call that a win.
Crochet Necklace with Pendant – plus a Scrabble tile pendant tutorial from a crafty friend!
Today I’m showing you how to make a crochet necklace with a pendant, and my friend Cindy will show you how to make the pendant!
Creativation 2018!
Hello all; I just got home from a long weekend in Phoenix for the AFCI (Association For Creative Industries) Creativation show. What a great time I had with so many great people!
I left the house early Thursday morning. While I waited for my flight at the airport, I made a little friend. Isn’t he a cutie?
It was great to get into Phoenix and be greeted by so many friends. When I got there
Yarn and Wine Tasting – this is going to be fun!
Oh boy, do I have some fun in store for you!!
This April 23rd, 2016, I will be hosting a yarn and wine tasting with my friends at Royal Rabbit Vineyards in Parkton, Maryland. I have a page that I will keep updating with the details and the sponsors, here.
I could use a little help from those of you who would like to attend. We have some things that we know, and others that we are still sorting. Here is what we know:
Elaina’s Noggin Cover
This hat was made as a gift for the daughter of my dear friend, Jon. Jon posted a picture of a pink hat on Facebook and mentioned that Elaina would look adorable in it. I happened to agree, so I thought I would make one for her. It took me a while to decide how to do the earflaps and bottom stripe. I like those to be doubled for warmth. I finally decided to start with the cord at the bottom of the earflaps, and make both of them in the round. Then I made the first stripe, and added the ear flaps. Both the ear flaps and the bottom stripe are 2 layers thick, so Elaina’s adorable little head will be nice and warm. I decided this hat is so cute that her mom needed one in her favorite colors, so I wrote the pattern for kiddos and adults. PLUS: They glow in the dark!! Check out the notes section to see how.

Memorial Day and other Family Fun
It’s been some time since I have shared family photos with you all! So here are some fun snaps and a bit about what we have all been up to over the last month or so
Star Wars Day (May the Fourth be with you!) was on a Monday, so Doug and the girls celebrated on Sunday with lots of Star Wars toys. It was adorable.
Happy Love Day…and stuff…
I have a lot of sharing for you today. Photos of randomness from the last week or so, some cuteness from the girls’ play date and sleepover, and a few Valentine’s Day snaps. Basically, a what I’m up to post for you today.
When my parents went on a little trip over the holidays, my dad found a few items that he knew I would love!
He didn’t know this, but I LOVE the Tom Tierney paper doll books. They are actually very true to period, and were even considered acceptable period costume research by my uber picky undergrad advisor.
He also found this pretty thimble at the gift shop outside of the Petra Treasury. I think that was were he found the earrings as well. I really love them.
Here is some colorful yarn I received from Lion Brand. Happiness in a box!
Rhinebeck 2014!
What a fabulous weekend!! I spent all day Sunday at the Rhinebeck Sheep and Wool Festival. I’ll tell you about that in a moment, but first I want to share a photo from Saturday.
Doug’s birthday was on Thursday, but the girls only got to see him for an hour. They wanted to really celebrate his birthday, so we had a Daddy’s Birthday Day on Saturday. We went out for frozen yogurt, to a movie, then out to dinner. The girls love those coloring mats at the restaurants!
Sunday morning I got up bright and early and drove into the City to pick up my friend Claire (we’re both admins for the Knitting Facebook group) and 2 of her friends. It was the first time I have met Claire in person, and she was as fabulous as I thought she would be! Then it was a nearly 2 hour drive up to Rhinebeck.
