Curtains-and-Tie-Backs-Round-UpPin

I have been thinking a lot about what to do for the privacy curtain in Kyla’s room. I want somthing that can just stay covering the window so people can’t see her when she is changing (because she will not remember to close the curtain) but will still let in the light and the air when the window is open. So, why not bring you some of the results of my search as a round up?

Here are some free knit and crochet curtains, valances, and tie backs. Enjoy!!

Here are all the links to the patterns, and a little bit that each designer has to say about the patterns.

1. Art Nouveau Folie ~ Free Crochet Pattern by Renata Brenner
This curtain was inspired by an Art Nouveau wallpaper design that I fell in love with and I charted the design. My project photos show it unblocked. Blocking will elongate the design and make it lacier.

2. Big Bold Chevron Curtain ~ Free Crochet Pattern by Moogly
The Big Bold Chevron Curtain pattern almost ended up with the name “Emergency Chevrons,” because they were the answer to a little emergency I discovered when we first moved into this house. The window in the master bath faces the neighbor’s house. And while the bottom half of the window came covered in privacy window film, the top half was clear as can be – and Geoff and I are both significantly taller than the previous owners! Yikes! The Big Bold Chevron Curtain was the answer!

3. Knitted Curtains ~ Free Knit Pattern by Isabella Beeton
In it’s original form, this pattern was very confusing and somewhat incomplete, making it difficult for people without lace knitting experience to work out. I’ve completed the pattern and added edge stitches so that it matches the engraving of the sample in the book exactly.

4. Cable Curtain Tie Back ~ Free Knit Pattern by Heather Larsen

5. No Sew Flower Motif ~ Free Crochet Pattern by Debi Dearest
The great thing about this pattern is that you can make it into all kinds of different things, like a scarf, a bag handle, an afghan or a valance, it’s totally up to you to decide!

6. Candlestick Curtains ~ Free Knit Pattern by Carol Schoenfelder
The curtain incorporates several stitch patterns, each charted: The main part of the curtain is based on Candlelight (from the Encyclopedia of Knitting by Stanfield and Griffiths). The edging is the reverse of Shadow Rib (from the same book). Chevron Lace (for the top) is based on Fancy Pattern # 17 from Cindy Moore’s “the Art of Knitting 1897”.

7. Garden Tie Backs ~ Free Crochet Pattern by Sandra Paul
These curtain tie-backs are very simple to make but add a pretty floral touch to a room.
