I have fallen in love with variegated yarns with slow color changes. You know the kind that can be yards and yards of one color before it slowly transitions into the next? I love that the yarn does so much of the work for you, enabling you to make the simplest of patterns look just stunning. So, I have put together a round up of patterns using these yarns. At the end of this post I have also included a list of the yarns used in these patterns, so you can create your own colorful masterpieces!

Here are the names and links of each pattern, along with a little something that each designer has to say about them.

1) Infinity Scarf ~ By KT and the Squid
A few months ago I got a bunch of yarn on clearance at Jo-Ann’s while visiting my sister near Seattle. I picked up a skein of Bernat Mosaic in Daydream and had been staring at it for a few moths figuring out what to do with it. It’s very pretty with yellows, pinks, purples, greens and blues. I thought the perfect one skein project would be a simple infinity scarf.

2) Lotus Flower Lace Scarf ~ Transcribed by The Crochet Lounge
If you’ve made a lacy scarf such as Queen Anne’s Lace, you’ll love the same type of motif work with a frilly edge!

3) Puff Stitch Necklace in 3 Lengths ~ by Jessie At Home
This simple and elegant necklace works up quickly using chain sts, puff sts, and a few slip sts. It is reminiscent of a layered chain and bead necklace, but much lighter to wear.

4) Midnight Breeze Shawl ~ by Beatrice Ryan Designs
This beautiful shawl was inspired by cool summer nights in the mountains of Northern California…. And it would make a wonderful Prayer Shawl!!

5) Kaleidoscope Cowl ~ by Danyel Pink
The Kaleidoscope Cowl is a colorful, moebius scarf with a lacy texture. Slip it on over your head, and your neck will be cozy and stylish! This is a quick and easy design. Pattern includes ideas for customizing and embellishing your cowl.

6) Moroccan Midnight Cowl ~ By Tamara Kelly
The Moroccan Midnight Cowl is a fantastic, sparkly, color changing cowl, that combines two different yarns to wonderful effect! Perfect for a night out, a romantic walk in freshly fallen snow… or a run to the grocery store!

7) Fall Leaves Wrap ~ CGOA Design Competition Winner ~ by Jessie At Home
Wrap yourself in the season and keep the chill off this fall!

8) Everyday Shawl ~ by Sara Sach
Do you have some Homespun style yarn laying around and can not figure out what to make with it? This yarn can be a little tricky to work with, but this pattern is a snap!

9) Tunisian Crochet Maura Rolled Brim Hat ~ by Kim Guzman
This adorable Tunisian Crochet hat even has a flower to dress it up.

10) Kaleidoscope Kallie Owl Pillow ~ by The Willow Whispers
Kaleidoscope Kallie Owl Pillow came about because of the love I have for Owls. I wanted to share my love with all my loyal fans.

Here are some of the yarns used in these patterns:
Red Heart Boutique Midnight
Schoppel-Wolle Zauberball
Lion Brand Homespun
Bernat Mosaic
Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable
Noro Taiyo
Noro Cyochin

    • When you post a comment, there are 2 little check boxes under the text window. One is to get emails when someone else replies to the same post, and one is to get emails when a new post it put up. Click on the new post box, and leave a comment, and you should start getting emails when I put up a new post. I do not have a newsletter as of yet, but I may start one this summer.
