WiP Wednesday ~ 2/27/13

Well, it’s Wednesday again. That means it’s time for me to share what I have been up to for the past week. As the girl’s vacation wrapped up, Doug and I made a cover for the radiator in the back corner of the playroom. I wanted them to be able to sit and read and have a place to lean against.

We made the cover out of scraps of lumber found in our garage. It’s not the prettiest thing in the world, but it works. The girls were very happy to have a little reading nook.

Sunday was an InsaniTea day! I wasn’t sure if I was going to make more rainbow bracelets, or if I was going to work on the never ending  K1P1 scarf.

The scarf won out. Knit one. Purl one. Knit one. Purl one. I was actually quite happy when a friend I hadn’t seen in several months showed up! It was so nice to catch up.

I have been working on the adult version of the Kat coat. Here it is ready for sleeves. And a collar. And a hood. And a skirt. And maybe a pocket or two. Oh, and a belt and zipper. OK, so it’s only just started…

The pattern includes a variety of sleeve options. Fitted, straight, flared, belled, reg length, mitt length… Mine has a straight sleeve, mitt length, with a thumb hole.

Progress is being made! I hope to have the other sleeve and maybe the collar by the next WiP Wednesday.

Yesterday I had to go to the laundry mat. We are hoping to have our new (to us) machine here in a week or two. I’ll be glad to be washing laundry at home again. While at the laundry mat, I worked on another sample for my next skirt pattern.

I have been working on the head forms I told you about. I now have 3 infant size forms. They are all about 15″ around. I ended up using a 4.5mm hook to get the 15 1/2″ I wanted for my fitting form. I will use the front one here for fitting patterns and photos, and use the other two for displaying hats at InsaniTea and craft /street fairs.

Today I have been working on my Spa sets. Here are a few bath poufs, and mitts. I should be posting the pattern for the mitt in the next day or two.

I have also been making a few ruffle scarves. I made some with this pattern, and I made some just by single crochet 4, ch1, turn repeat.

I should get back to spa sets. Have a nice evening!
