I’m in print!

Remember when my Octie blanket won second place at the CGOA Design Competition? Well, I had a few publishers ask about buying the pattern. I decided to go with Crochet! magazine, as they are the magazine that all CGOA members receive, and I liked the idea of this pattern being in actual print, not only online. I wanted to be able to hand my parents a copy of the magazine and say “Look what I did!!” 🙂

Today I received a package in the mail. This is what it contained:

My-awesome-mailPin

That is the new blanket I made for the magazine, and 2 advance copies of the magazine. I’ll also get the copy I always get in the mail, plus I will most likely run over to the craft store to pick up a few more (The print edition goes on sale 7/8, but the digital edition is out already, and can be purchased here.)

I had to make a new blanket for the magazine for 2 main reasons. 1) I was not going to keep Kyla’s blanket from her for that long. 2) Many of the colors of the Lion Brand Cotton Ease yarn that I had used were discontinued, so I switched to Lion Brand Hartland yarn which has beautiful colors.

It is so fun to hold a magazine in my hands and see “Designed by Jessie Rayot” inside.

I really love the photo they used, as well. There is also a page with a close up across the top that is very cool!

OK, enough bragging for me, I need to get back to work. (and just to reaffirm what I told you at the very end of my post the other day, yes, I am entering the CGOA Design Competition at the end of July)

  1. Jessie, I loved seeing your blanket last year at CGOA, I can’t wait to see what you came up with this year! Hope to see you there!

  2. Wow, this is such a gorgeous blanket. We recently bought a vintage VW bus which we are in the process of restoring, and I plan to make this lovely throw to put in there once it’s finished.
