Last week I received a surprise in the mail from Lion Brand Yarn. Normally I do not like surprises, but when it comes to yarn companies, I am all for them!!

When the package arrived, I giggled in anticipation, then impatiently ripped it open to find this:

Ohhh! So pretty. And soft. And cuddly. I giggled some more.

These are new members of the LB Collection family. I am a big fan of the LB collection. I actually have several other LB yarns on my shelves, waiting to become patterns (or samples for patterns) to share with you!

I started with the Silk Chiffon Ribbon yarn. It wanted to be a knit scarf. I didn’t want the chiffon to have to handle all the abuse I give my scarves, so I needed to pair it up with something. I searched and searched my stash. Eventually I came up with some single ply yarn I had made with Lion Brand Homespun roving (which can be bought at the Lion Brand Outlet in NJ). You can see some pictures of some 2 ply yarn I had made with it back in May toward the bottom of this post.

I held the Silk Chiffon Ribbon and the handspun Homespun (now that is just fun to say) together as one to make the scarf. I came up with a simple pattern that shows off the yarn. I took a few photos yesterday, but they are not great, so I need to snap a few more. I should have better pictures and a pattern for you on Monday!

*See ~ fuzzy photos. I’ll get some better snaps for the pattern photos.

As for the Crepe yarns, they are also on my knitting needles. For some reason, both of these yarns wanted me to knit them. Though I think I will need to get some more of the crepe for some crochet patterns at a later date. Anyway, the crepe yarns are both being used for a knit cowl. It is not that far along, but you are going to LOVE it when I have enough done to share. 🙂

Happy yarning, my friends!

Oh, my, just as I was about to post this, I received more fun mail!! Two crochet books I am going to review for you this month. So much fun to come!!
