This adorable fleece skirt is just perfect for wearing over leggings or tights on a cold day. It works up very quickly, so you can delight the little girl in your life in no time at all! The waist has a tie string, so it fits for a long time. I have also included a bonus scarf pattern for you.

Waist 16~22″
Hip 20~28″
Skirt length 12″

Yarn:
Fleece yarn ~ 300 g for skirt and scarf together.
Premier yarns, Deborah Norville, Cuddle Fleece used in samples seen.

Needle:
US 13/9 mm

Gauge:
11 sts in 4″ of stockinet stitch

Stitches and Skills used:
K ~ Knit
yo ~ yarn over
K2tog ~ Knit 2 together
st(s) ~ stitch(es)

Getting Started:Use a different marker as the round marker so that you always know when you have come to the end. If you only have one kind of marker, place 2 next to each other for the round marker.
To make the skirt longer, add more repeats of the rows marked with **. Remember that making the skirt longer will take more yarn.

Designer Notes:
For the samples seen in this pattern:
The light skirt was made with the pattern as written until the bind off. The (yo, pass previous st on right needle over the yo) part was only repeated once, not twice; this creates a tighter bottom.
The darker skirt was made with 2 extra rows in each of the first 2 sections marked with ** and with 4 extra rows in the last ** section. The bind off was made as written, creating a little flair at the bottom.

Pattern:
Cast on 64, place a round marker and continue to work in rounds being careful not to twist.
Round 1, 3, 5: Slip marker, K all. ~ {64 sts total in round}
Round 2, 4: Slip marker, (K2, yo, K2tog) around to end. ~ {64 sts total in round}
Round 6: Slip marker, K 16, (place marker, K 16) 3 times. ~ {64 sts total in round}
Round 7~15: (Slip marker, K to next marker) 4 times. ~ {64 sts total in round}
Round 16: (Slip marker, K to next marker, yo) 4 times. ~ {68 sts total in round}
Round 17~23**: (Slip marker, K to next marker) 4 times. ~ {68 sts total in round}
Round 24: (Slip marker, K8, yo, K to next marker) 4 times. ~ {72 sts total in round}
Round 25~31**: (Slip marker, K to next marker) 4 times. ~ {72 sts total in round}
Round 32: (Slip marker, K4, yo, K9, yo, K to next marker) 4 times. ~ {80 sts total in round}
Round 33~39**: (Slip marker, K to next marker) 4 times. ~ {80 sts total in round}

Bind off: Remove marker, bind off  first 4 sts, drop 5th st, (yo, pass previous st on right needle over the yo) 3 times,* bind off 4, drop next st (yo, pass previous st on right needle over the yo) 2 times, repeat from * to end of round, removing markers as you go.

Finishing: Make 2 i~cords or crochet chains to run through the eyelets in rounds 2 & 4 as drawstrings.

Row 1~8: K all.
Row 9: K1, (yo, K1) across to end of row.
Row 10: K1, (drop yo, K1) across to end of row.
Row 11~12: K all.
Row 13: K1, (yo twice, K1) across to end of row.
Row 14: K1, (drop 2 yo, K1) across to end of row.
Row 15~16: K all.
Row 17: K1, (yo, K1) across to end of row.
Row 18: K1, (drop yo, K1) across to end of row.
Row 19~26: K all.
Repeat Rows 9~26: to desired length.
