These origami cicadas make no sound at all, they just sit quietly and look pretty. With my simple instructions for folding an Origami Cicada the easy way, you can fold your own origami cicada in no time at all. It’s a simple pattern I think looks best with paper that is a different color on each side. My dad who currently lives in Japan says that Japanese children love to catch cicadas and collect their empty shells in the summer. I haven’t seen to many cicadas here in New Jersey lately, so I say, “if you can’t catch them, fold your own!” Let’s relax, have a bit of fun, and start folding an origami cicada the easy way!

One of the missing states was NJ, where I happen to live. Of course I told her I would be happy to help out. I thought about it and decided I could to make a post card using a Cricut myself.

The Origami Crane a favorite piece of origami for all, me included. The Origami Crane is a slightly challenging piece, but take your time, line up your folds neatly and it will turn out great! Here are step by step instructions to help you succeed.

Many believe if you fold 1000 cranes you will get a wish. Personally, I love to fold them from everything I can! I have been known to fold them from cloth napkins at restaurants, programs at events, and little bits of scrap paper. They are just so fun to make, the Origami Crane a favorite piece of origami for you too?

Start the Crane with the Bird Base. The split section should be pointing down as shown.
