Crochet-Show-2013

We are the cool table!

Wow, my head is spinning. What a day! I just opened my fortune cookie from the Chinese delivery I had for dinner. It says “You will be successful through innovation and determination.” I think my cookie may be on to something. I will try to give a short(ish) tale of the last 2 days for you. I am rather tired, and it is getting late. After school, Doug and the girls dropped me at the airport. I felt the need … Read more

Stand back…

My head is going to explode, you may want to take a step back…

I have so much going on right now I can’t seem to keep it all straight, and I feel like my head may go kaplooy at any moment. Kaplooy? How do you spell ka-ploo-ie?

I have the top of the Katherine coat done, and am about 1/4 of the way done with the top part of the skirt. So I still need to do the rest of the top part of the skirt, the bottom of the skirt, the hood, the pockets, and the belt. I leave for the knit and crochet show two weeks from today. Oh dear.

Let’s not even get into the rest of the things I need to do before then.

On my needles, on my hook, and on my mind…

I know, I need to finish the Katherine coat for the Knit and Crochet show. I just can’t work on only one thing. Plus, then there would be no free patterns here until mid to late October. Not to mention, sometimes I just need to step away from Katherine for a while. We have a very complex relationship, that coat and I. It seems there was something in the air this spring, I have quite a few pregnant friends. They … Read more

Circle to Triangle Bunting ~ Free Crochet Pattern

This granny inspired creation starts out with a circle, then transitions into a triangle. Make it all one color, or up to 6 different colors. Change up the colors for different seasons. You can use the triangles just as is for various uses, or string them together to make bunting. In honor of Crochetville’s slip stitch event ~ Summer is Slipping Away, I have included instructions on how to make the bunting with a wider ribbon~like string, which is made using slip stitch crochet. Enjoy!

Monkey-Convention

Monkey Convention

I have just a short post for you this evening. I am having issues adjusting to the school schedule. Getting up in time to be showered and caffeinated before the girls need to get up is proving a bit more difficult then I remember. Oh well, I will get back into the grove in time. The other day there appeared to be a monkey convention in the living room. It was a secret convention. The girls aren’t talking. The monkeys … Read more

Basement Organizing & Yarn Stash

I spent most of the day in the basement doing some cleaning and organizing. My cutting table was covered with varoius…stuff, and there was a stack of bins and crates 8 feet long and 3 feet tall next to the sofa. I have been looking for the same skein of yarn for weeks now and I finally couldn’t take it anymore. I knew it was in one of those bins! The first thing I did was pull out some of … Read more

Katherine-do-over

Once more into the breech

Hello my friends! Do you remember how far I had gotten on the Katherine Coat over the spring/summer? Well, here she is now:

Katherine-do-over

That’s right, I frogged the whole coat. It had to be done. I took a couple of weeks and re~wrote the entire pattern, I did warn you I was going to do that. I am much happier now. I was not impressed with the boxy look of the coat on the first go around, and I want to provide you with the best possible patterns.
