Patriotic Party CAL/KAL ~ final week

Oh, my! It’s the final week of the Patriotic Party CAL/KAL! Time sure does fly. You can find all the links to all the patterns in the first post of the CAL/KAL. You can continue to share your creations in the Jessie At Home CAL/KAL group on Facebook, even after the CAL/KAL is over.

**I know I said there would be a CAL/KAL break over the summer, but the wonderful thing about being my own boss is I can change my mind!! I came up with an idea for a CAL/KAL that will work even for those of you who are in and out all summer, and that I will be able to make work even with my crazy summer schedule. So check back next week to learn more.**

Bread Basket

This crochet bread basket is a fun way to dress up your everyday dinner rolls, or to show off that pretty braided bread you picked up at the corner deli. Be sure to use a washable yarn that is not too fuzzy so you can clean your bread basket as needed and so it doesn’t leave fuzz in your bread. You can also add a fabric or paper towel liner in your basket and serve chips or various other items out of it. You could even fill it up with wrapped candies!

Summer!!! I wanted to do a summer themed round up, and I couldn’t decide on a theme. So…the theme is summer round ups. That’s right, this is a round up of round ups. I’m a little kookie that way.

Star Trivet or Centerpiece

This star crochet pattern can be used as a trivet or a centerpiece. If your gauge is the same as mine, I have marked where to stop the pattern for the trivet, or you can go all the way to the end to make the centerpiece. However, you do not have to match my gauge for this pattern to work! It will just be a different size. Please remember to stay safe: don’t use meltable yarn for a trivet, and this pattern is not intended to be used as a potholder.

Striped Can Cozy

I love can cozies for parties. They are like attached coasters, and if they all look a little different they work to identify which drink is whose! Plus they keep your beverage cool without freezing your hand. This simple cozy pattern works on a can or bottle, and can be made as short or tall as you desire. It’s made with hdc stitches and can be made in stripes or solids. Enjoy!

Hello my friends! I have seen a lot of you over in the Facebook group for the Patriotic Party CAK/KAL, but not a lot of your pictures. I sure would LOVE to see what you have been creating ~ no more being shy, share away over there! 🙂

In that spirit, I have some sneak peak pictures of some patterns to come. Remember to keep checking the original CAL/KAL post for the list of all the patterns we are using. I drink a lot of ice water in the summer, and my cup always ends up in a puddle of water. So to me, summer means coasters! If you’re going to make some coasters, then why not make some placemats as well? This is how my mind works.
