Yarn Everywhere

I miss my parents when they are off living on other continents. But there are some perks. My mom saw the Bayeux Tapestry and bought me back a goodie from the gift shop. Before you say, “What, just cards?” Look inside. Pretty cool, aren’t they? MINE!!! I love them. A few days ago Kyla lost one of her top front teeth. The other one has been leaning to one side, so it looks like it is right in the middle. … Read more

Catching up

With all the blog moving and pattern posting, I have a bit of a backlog of cute little girl photos for you!

So without further ado, here is a bit of  the past couple weeks in our home.

Kyla wanted a “Mommy necklace” so I tossed one together from a chain I had that wasn’t long enough for an adult version. It made her very happy.

Sometimes Kyla has issues with smaller buttons. So Vada helps out.

Wet

Not long after Doug went on a storage run, the skies opened up. I tried to get everything under cover, but we are still drying out. Hopefully today we will be able to get the rest of the tents up and have everything under cover.

Painting pottery!

As I am sitting here in Thor, waiting to check into Pennsic, I think I will be productive. You may have noticed I just figured out how to post from my Droid, so I may have many short vacation photos for you throughout the next couple of weeks. As long as I can keep my phone charged, that is.

So, as I was saying, productive.

The girls turned 5 last Friday.

Excuse me, I’m off to see the wizard.

When I was younger *did I just say that?* I used to have this button. It had a psychedelic background and said “Excuse me, I’m off to see the wizard.” I used to wear it on days when I felt a like my mind and my body were in two different worlds.

If I had that button now, I’d have been wearing it for the past month.

This whole house~buying~thing has me a little off~kilter, even for me. So I’ve decided to just ignore the crazy and live life anyway. For years I’ve been saying “when we have a house, I’ll start…” or, “I’ll be better about … when we have a house.” I’ve blamed this dinky little apartment for more then it’s share of…stuff.

Now there are some things

Back in time

The past two weekends were the annual Sands point Medieval Festival, where Doug and I always help out. We brought the girls for the first weekend, but not the second.

As always, Doug fought bravely. I think he was a good guy this year… (he’s the one standing)

I helped out in the A&S booth, demoing various fiber arts, and enjoying the lovely days outside. The first weekend all four of us spent the night in the girls’ little 10×10 pavilion. It was a tight fit, but so nice in the morning to wake up with the girls.

Here we have Kyla inspecting the camp on Sunday morning.

What a month!

Much craziness since we last talked. Let’s see here, how about a basic run down?

Gift-for-Pennsic-friends

First, Doug went off to Pennsic XL (that’s 40, not extra large). It was quite surreal to know that he was there, while I wasn’t; even more so each evening when he would call. However, considering everything we had planned with my Mother’s side of the family in the upcoming week, there was no sane or financially intelligent way for the rest of us to join him.
