YARN!!!

That’s right, there is a new tab at the right end of the menu up there under my blog title. It says “Yarn”. From there you can find lots of great yarn from Ice Yarn, at great prices. I had the option of increasing the prices, and most resellers do. They double or triple the price and then don’t charge shipping. The problem with that is anyone can go to Ice Yarn directly and get a better price. So, I have chosen to simply leave the price alone (I still get a very small percent) and still charge shipping. So you pay exactly the same as if you went straight to Ice Yarn. The best part is, even after you add the shipping cost back into the yarn, it is cheaper then going to the craft store.

Every Tuesday there are unbelievable sales, so don’t miss out!

Moving on I will show you some great projects made with some of these yarns, and I will even offer kits of my patterns with the yarn needed to make the items. These kits will be available at InsaniTea, and through my Etsy store.

Stay tuned for more fun yanie info. In the meantime, don’t forget today’s sale!

Yes, it’s 5am. We are about to leave for my first street fair as a vendor. Wish me luck! Hopefully I will be a little more sane after today, as I have been going non stop to get ready. The next fair isn’t for 6 weeks, so I shouldn’t get so crazy next time. Unless I do really well this time and have to make all new stock. Here’s to crazy!!

I’ll let you know tonight or tomorrow how it went.

In the meantime, here is a cute snap from yesterday morning to hold you over.

So why is it that P words work so nicely in place of other…um…colorful…words?

I went to Home Depot, and bought the shut off valve I wanted for the basement. I was all ready for  quick, easy job. I collected all the things I needed, shut off the water, and grabbed the cutter from the bucket of plumbing tools I had. Or so I thought I would. Maybe I should have checked to make sure it really was there before I went to the store. Uggg! I looked all over the back room of the basement, and the garage. No pipe cutter.

So totally not in the mood to go back to the store, and really wanting to get my Tim Taylor on (did I just date myself?) I decided I would go back to the store tomorrow, and fix something else today.

Another round of collecting supplies, and it was time to get started. First I set up my nifty little flood light, and turned off the circuit to the basement ceiling (which controls all the basement lights.)

Then it was time to remove one of the florescent lights I’ve been wanting to replace.

Even though I knew the power was out, I still checked the wires with the circuit tester before I touched them. Always a good plan.

Time to put up one of the light fixtures I had laying around waiting for a new home. Somehow, they got packed without their mounting plates. Ugg again. This time I had no patients for a never ending search, and considering this was just for the basement for a “for now” kind of fix, I just cut a scrap of wood to use in it’s place.

See…works just fine. Now it’s time to connect black to black and white to white.

Ta~da!! And just like my daddy taught me, if you use the right wire~cap~thingies (OK, he taught me the proper name for them, but I forgot,) there is no electrical tape needed. Now just tuck the wires in and flip the circuit back on!

Let there be light! I can actually see at my cutting table now. Very exciting!

As you can see, I have been working on organizing in the basement. There’s still a lot to go, but it’s nice to see some progress.

Wish me luck with the shut off valve tomorrow!

I have used all my picture storage!! 1023MB (1024MB = 1GB) of pictures on this blog. Wow, that’s a lot. I just paid $5.00 (per year) to get an additional 20GB per year. So that should last for a few years ;^)

Anyway, it may take up to 24 hours for the storage to show, so I guess I’ll try back later to post the snaps I wanted to share.
