Today I will give you a tutorial on using the Clover Tassel Maker and Thread Twister to make tassels on cords. These tools make it so much easier, plus you can make multiples that are uniform in size.

Before starting this tutorial I want to point out that there are more in depth instructions that come with the tools. Actually, all Clover tools I have ever used have come with very complete and illustrated instructions.
I started my tassels with the cord. I used the thread twister (find it on Amazone HERE) to make my cord. First attach the two ends to the thread twister and make the cords to one of the suggested sizes in the instructions.
Then twist away by turning the wheel the number of times that coordinated with your thread length on the instructions. Then just let the cord twist.
Next, fold the cord in half and tied a knot at the end. I actually tied one knot, then tied another over top of it to make it bigger so it would stay in the tassel. More on that later.
Next choose the size tassel you want to make and adjust the tassel maker to the size. You can find the small tassel maker on Amazon HERE, and the large tassel maker on Amazon HERE.
Then wrap the tassel maker until it has as much yarn as you want. If you are going to make multiple tassels and want them to be uniform you will want to count the number of wraps so you can make them all the same. Now it’s time to slide the knotted end of the cord in the middle of the tassel. Be sure to pull the knotted end down below the middle of the tassel where you will be tying it. You want a big knot so it wont pull out of the tassel.
Tie the tassel tight around the center, over all layers, make sure the knot of the cord is below the tie. There are arrows on the sides to help find the center, which one you use depends on which size tassel you are making.
There are channels on the top and bottom of the tassel maker so you can slide your scissors in to cut the two ends.
Now grab the cord and fan out the tassel around it, then fold the tassel down. Pinch it tight and wrap a new piece of yarn or string around the tassel to make the top band. Then cut the ends even and you are done!
