This pretty little blanket is made using 4 of my Four Points Squares. The single crochet join as you go method is used to join them together, then a border is added. This blanket will make a lovely addition to the room of any little star in your life! Plus, it can be machine washed and dried thanks to the Red Heart Super Saver yarn it’s made from!

Each round instruction is ended with a (.) period. It is then followed by a (-) dash which is followed by the stitch count for that round.

Pattern:
Make 4 Four Points Squares, 1 each of colors A, B, C, & D.

A joining round will now be made on each of the squares. Start with the square in Color A and make the border as written. Next make the border on the Color B square, and join the second side to any side of the previous square. Next make the border on the Color D square and join the second side to the bottom of the Color A square. Last make the border on the Color C square and join the second and third sides below the Color B square and next to the Color D square. The images below will help with the layout.

Make the border on the squares as follows, joining them as you go as explained above:
Border: With Color E, sl st in any ch-2 corner sp, ch 3, sc in ch-2 corner sp, *sc in each sc to corner, (sc, ch 2, sc) in ch-2 corner sp, repeat from * 2 more times, sc in each sc to corner, sc in ch-2 corner sp, sl st to 2nd ch of starting ch 3 to join round. – 42 sts on each side, ch 2 over each corner

You may need to fudge the skipped stitches before each corner to make things work on round 16.

Use or give and enjoy!

  1. The repeats for the blanket border should probably read Row 1, 2, 3 then repeat rows 2 & 3 six times using the colors as listed.

Even if that is not what is intended, that will be how I do this because this way makes sense to me.
