Nettie's Super Simple Mitts - free crochet pattern by Jessie At HomePin

Nettie’s Super Simple Mitts
Crochet Pattern
Easy Skill Level
Designed by Jessie Rayot

Increase your style with these fashionable fingerless mitts. This pattern is slightly different from the rest of the Nettie’s Super Simple Stitch in the round patterns in that it starts with a row of single crochet. The net stitch is then worked off of the single crochet round. This provides a more sturdy base to the mitts so that they stay up. This pattern is also written in a way that it can be made to fit any size, and to finish to any length. Have fun with it!

Pattern:
To determine how long round 1 will be, measure around the wearer’s are at the point where the mitts will end. Chain 6 for every inch, plus 6 more, sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and each remaining chain. Wrap the chain around the arm and determine the length needed for a proper fit. Count how many single crochets fit around, and round to the nearest multiple of 4+3. Check again to be sure. Write down the number of sts needed for the first round.
Rnd 1: Ch the first round number just determined, plus one, sc in the 2nd ch from hook and each remaining ch, sl st to the top of the first sc to join the round.
*green sample started with 23 sts
pink sample started with 27 sts
white sample started with 39 sts
Rnd 2: Ch 5, *skip 3 sc, sl st in next sc, repeat from * until 3 sc remain, skip 5 (the 3 remaining sc and the first 2 ch) sl st in next ch.
Continuous rounds:  *Ch 5, skip 5, sl st in next st, repeat from * in continuous rounds (spiral) to desired length.
Thumb Hole: Ch 5 to 11 (as many as are needed to make a thumb hole that will fit the wearer), skip 5, sl st in next st, end off here, or continue as follows:  *ch 5, skip 5, sl st in next st, repeat from * until the last sl st made is worked into the thumb hole chain, sl st in each ch to next sl st, end off.

Weave in ends.

  1. Would love to try this pattern!! Is the pattern the same if I use crochet thread?? I think crochet thread would look more delicate!!
