Playing with color makes me happy

Hello my friends! How are all of you?

I have been under the weather in a rather miserable way, but I am starting to feel better, and should be back to myself in a week.

Thankfully, I got everything straightened out with Flickr/Yahoo and am able to sign into my Flickr account again.

I have not had the chance to get some snaps of my Katherine coat yet, but I will soon. I have a few testers going, and am very hopeful to have the pattern ready for you before Easter! Here is another look at my belt with all the pretty colors all rolled up.

I thought a good way to make myself feel better would be with some pretty colored yarn! So I got going on a pattern that has been rolling around in my head for some time. I needed to roll up 2 skeins of yarn and didn’t feel like getting out the swift and the ball winder, so I enlisted the help of the cute little blond child. Isn’t she just the cutest swift you have ever seen?!

What a sweetie! She was so happy to help Mommy. She is always happy to help. They both are. I am a very lucky Mommy!!

Here is a quick snap I took of the colors I have been playing with. They are actually a bit more jewel toned then the picture shows, and the middle is really more teal.

I have a Thanksgiving gift for all of you! Tomorrow or the next day I will put up a quick little tutorial on making a fun bracelet with your yarn scraps. It is also a great way to introduce yourself to slip stitch crochet. I just need to get some good photos to go with the tutorial.

As I have been feeling under the weather, I have not been in much of a cooking mood lately. So this was the girls’ dinner a few nights ago. (I had the same thing, just on a different plate, the girls shared this plate)

They were quite happy with the dinner. However, one of them *Kyla* liked the turkey much better then the cheese.

Vada and I took care of the little Swiss pile for her. The littles got a kick out of using the last roll up as a pincushion for the rest of the toothpicks. Eventually they had to remove all the toothpicks so they could finish dinner.

Have a lovely Thanksgiving my friends!
