Snap! Wrap Up

Well, SNAP was nothing short of amazing! I’ve been to crochet and knit conferences and trade shows, but this was my first blogger conference. The days were jam packed with networking and classes, and the nights were full of fun. I averaged 5 hours of sleep a night, and I was still full of energy. I think I may have been running on adrenaline and endorphins (there was a LOT of chocolate involved). I didn’t take as many pics as I planned on, I was just too engrossed in everything! I did take a few, though, so I’m posting most of them here and I’ll share a bit more about the conference through the pictures.

Before I start, I need to send out a big THANK YOU to Red Heart Yarns for making this trip possible for me. Just wait to see the fun we have in store for you in July!!!

The trip started where most of my trips start: crocheting and waiting for my plane at Newark airport.

There was a secret sister gift exchange at SNAP, this was the gift from my secret sister on the first day. I forgot to take pictures after opening it, but it had trail mix (my favorite snack) and a little tote bag with the starburst symbol in my logo on it in red (my favorite color).

The first sponsor I visited was Boye, it was nice to see a yarnie company there, as this conference encompassed every craft you can think of. Look at these fun cookies! They were yummy. You’ll see more of the swag I received from them at a later date. Oh the things I have planned for you!

Not long after I visited Boye, I walked by again, and Tamara said “They’re talking about you.” So I turned around and went back because I had a feeling I knew why. Sure enough, there was Carrie from Red Heart. I was SO excited to finally meet her in person!! Pretty soon, Carrie, Tamara, Marie, and I were wondering around together. We ate most meals together, and sat together when we took the same classes. It’s always nice to have friends to share the conference experience.

The first dinner was sponsored by Chinet. The tables were set with the cut crystal collection, isn’t it pretty? I love the little circle in between the plates. For many of the meals, squares of scrapbook paper were used as place mats, it was so cool! You better bet I’m stealing that idea next time I need to set a table for company!

I took a lot of classes, they were all great. Some more so than others. I really feel I learned a lot that will help improve my business.

Like I said, lots of chocolate.

There were a couple parties sponsored by various companies. Marie, Tamara, and I had a little black light fun at the Fire and Ice party.

So, chocolate. Lots of chocolate. This was in the Lindt lounge. Yes, you read that right, a lounge full of chocolate. The picture is fuzzy because I may have had a bit too much sugar. 😉

Michaels sponsored the second dinner. They had this cool photo backdrop.

Here is my gift from my secret sister on the last day. Aren’t they great! I was really hoping whoever picked me would give me something they made, I love handmade gifts. My secret sister was Colleen P from Lemon Thistle. She has a great blog, go check it out.

More classes. I’m still a little overwhelmed by it all, but I took lots of notes, so hopefully I will be able to implement the things I learned the work with my business.

I crocheted a lot while waiting for classes or meals to start.

On the last night, AdThrive had a little meet and greet, and Tamara and I worked on our selfie skills. I manged to get a cute shot of Tamara, but I look a little funky in this one.

I finally remembered to snap a shot of my room just as I was leaving on Sunday morning. It was a great room! If you ever need a hotel in Salt Lake City, I highly recommend the Little America!

Before leaving for SNAP, I bought some new Sanuk slip ons. I wore them the whole time with the exception of the beach party (when I wore Sanuk flip flops). My feet didn’t hurt even the slightest bit, and I walked twice as much as I usually do every day. I love these things!! They are worth every penny and then some!

So, I’m home now. I went to bed early last night and finally got 8 hours of sleep, and now it’s back to work.
