New-Brownies!

Bridge to Brownies!

The girls and I have enjoyed two fabulous years of Girl Scout Daisies, and Thursday night they became Girl Scout Brownies! I am so proud of them. I love it when they do something and they say “I am going to (do this) because it is what a good Girl Scout would do”. Or when they see someone do something that is no so nice and they say “That is not a very Girl Scout thing to do.” I hope … Read more

Books, Daisies, and Girl’s Night!

Hello! As I told you the other day, Wednesday and Thursday were the book fair days at the girl’s school. It was tons of fun. The kids REALLY love books. Really LOVE books! Recess was like a scene from a zombie apocalypse movie. I came home on Thursday with just a few books. These are the books that I chose. I thought the cookbook would be fun for bonding with the girls over the summer break. There are some great … Read more

Daisy Animal Flip Books!

Here are the results of the unique animals we created at our last Daisy meeting. At the start of the meeting the girls all colored various animals I had printed out. We talked about what “unique” means (Yay Alexa for knowing the meaning of unique!!). We discussed what makes each of them unique and what makes each of the animals they had colored unique. While the girls were having a snack, I cut the animals into 3 and put them … Read more

Attack of the Girl Scout Cookies 2014!

Well, it’s that time of year again! My house has been overrun by Girl Scout cookies! We picked up our 1248 packages (in 104 boxes) of Girl Scout Cookies on Sunday afternoon. We stacked them all in my dining room…and my living room, by kind. We sorted the first girl’s cookies before I remembered to snap some photos. So here is what (almost) 104 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies looks like in my house. Eventually all the packages were sorted … Read more

Daisy chaos and camera news

Last night was our first Daisy meeting of the year. Upon turning in our room request schedule for the meetings at the school, we discovered that the policies had changed and we needed 40 days notice to request a room. Oops, we were a little late for the first meeting. We managed to get the cafeteria for all our other meetings, but we could not use the school at all for the first. So, I volunteered my house; after all, … Read more

Attack of the Girl Scout Cookies

Oh, the dangers of being a Daisy leader! Last weekend our GS Cookie troop order came in, and my house was over run! One of the other leaders, two other moms, and I, loaded up our vehicles and brought all the cases over to my house. As you can see, the dining table was quickly stacked high with cases of cookies ~ 12 boxes per case. Even the coffee table was fair game! The piano bench became the spot to … Read more

Cute Fix

I thought I would take it upon myself to provide you with your “cute fix” for this evening. Possibly even enough for a whole week, or more. I may be biased, but there is some awfully cute stuff coming up! Over the girl’s break, after going to the laundromat  we took a trip to the grocery store. The one that gives free balloons to kiddies. I clipped Kyla’s to her hat tie. She was very amused. The other day, Kyla made herself a … Read more

February Break

I’ve never understood why some school !have February breaks. It’s too cold to go out, and it means that spring break has to be moved later so it doesn’t coincide with Easter. Plus it makes the school year end even later. Oh well, we have it, so we will make the best of it! The girls had quite a crazy day on Thursday. They came home with so much candy, and we still had left overs from Christmas! Then in the evening … Read more
