News and New Things!

Wait!! Don’t go! You are in the right place!

I know, it’s all shiny and new over here. I needed a new look. The old one was a little too chaotic for me. I really like this look. I’m not quite done, but I like where it is going.

I am also going back through a lot of the old patterns/tutorials/videos and such. There are images to fix and tags to attach, and just lots of behind the scenes stuff that I really didn’t know when I was just doing this as a hobby. It’s a lot of work, but I have the house to myself for the weekend, so I should be able to put a big dent in it.

New things!! Lots of news and new things to share with you.

The first month of 2015 is almost over, and there has been so much awesomeness already! I don’t know that I will get it all in here today, but here is some of the fun news of the last 3 weeks.

I’m sure most of you have noticed this one already, but the very first block of The 2015 Moogly Afghan Crochet-Along is my Tamara’s Kismet Square!!! I have the niftiest friends! Actually, all the squares in this year’s CAL will be from a group of wonderful designers that I spend a lot of time with on social media. I have even had the joy of meeting several of them in person, including Tamara. 🙂

Quite of few of my free crochet patterns are listed on All Free Crochet (AFC). This year is the second year in a row that I have been listed in their Top Bloggers of the year! Actually two of my patterns made it into the 100 most popular patterns in 2014. The are the One Hour Spiral Scarf and the Stop and Stare Shawl. Yay!!

Just a quicky

Just a quick post for you before I turn in for the night. Last week when my friend was over here (when I hurt my ankle,) she saw my stack o’ hats for my Max hat pattern, and asked if I could make her and her daughter a matching set.

So I picked up some sparklie pink and black yarn when I was finally able to go to the yarn store.

What a week!

Last week was quite long and short, all at once. Do you know what I mean?

More to come

I haven’t forgotten you, my friends. Things have been a whirlwind around here. Yesterday and today is the Holiday Gift Shop at the girls’ school, and I have a table there. So I have been busily making items for the kids to buy for Holiday gifts. I forgot my camera yesterday, but it is packed up this morning, so I will get you some photos today!

Chaos

Yup, chaos. Kind of explains a lot going on right now. I seem to have a decent routine on school mornings up unit I get home from taking the girls to school. Then it’s just a bit, well, chaotic. I’m working on getting into a routine during the school days. It seems like there is just more to do then time in the day. Market some days, laundry others, cleaning (always cleaning), organizing all the stuff in the basement, garage, spare room (which will one day be Kyla’s room), working on my designs/patterns, and, of course, spending time with you, my blogland friends. I know I can.

So much to do, so little time

Honestly, since I left the theater, I don’t think I’ve understood this phrase as much as I do right now. Somehow I have forgotten how many hours there are in a day and have just taken on a bit too much. I guess that is the downfall of finally having a handle on my MDD for the first time in quite a few years. Guess I will have to learn about restraint again. ;^) So much to do!

On top of the WiPs I had already going on, a few weeks ago my sister~in~law called to say there would be a baby show for our niece on the 9th (last weekend). That’s right, do the math, I’m going to be a great aunt. Our niece’s mother is Doug’s older sister from his father’s first marriage, so I don’t feel quite as old, but it is still a bit of an odd feeling. Then again, I have an uncle who is 5 months younger then me, so I guess I should just chill a bit.

Weekend Happiness

It was a *very hot* nice weekend. Lots of fun inside time, due to the heat. So I thought I would share a bit of it with you.

Plugging Away

That’s me. Just working on finishing various half done crafts around the place. I just ran around and took a few snaps to show you all in blogland what I’ve been up to lately.

Last week I broke my rule about no new projects aside from holiday gifts or Craft Hope until I finish all the partially finished projects. There was a good reason, though: I kept loosing pencils. So I took a paper towel roll, a page from a board book the girls had torn up (I always keep old board books that are not in good enough shape to pass on, they come in handy for crafts,) some scrapbook paper, and glue, and I created this little guy.

Rather nifty, isn’t he? And it really only took me the course of one program I was watching with the hubby.

Here we go, a project I had found in my closet.
