Happy Thanksgiving!

Holiday Coupon 2015

Hello my friends! Happy Thanksgiving!

I’m going to be spending some time with my family. After all, Jessie At Home came about as a way to keep in touch with my extended family, and to keep a history of my immediate family.

So, this will be my last post until Tuesday. That means no round up, pattern, or link blast. Everything resumes as normal (wait, we have normal?) on Tuesday. I hope you all are able to take some time to be with your loved ones as well.

As a thank you to you, my loyal readers, I have set up a coupon code on both Ravelry and Etsy. Use the code

Thankful

We spent the holiday weekend with my family in Beverly, MA. My mother is the oldest of 11 kids. Her parents and about half her siblings and their families live in the Beverly area. It is really the only home that has been constant through my life. There have been other places that have felt like home, but when you live in 7 different states and over a dozen different cities in the first 30 years of your life, “home” isn’t as permanent to you as it is to most. I am trying to change that. But, as I said, Beverly is the one place that has been home to me for my whole life. Every time we drive in, I feel a wave of calm and peace.

We arrived Wednesday night and checked into our hotel. Doug and the girls gave the beds a check.

Thursday we had a small Thanksgiving with my Grandparents. We had a large Thanksgiving II planned for Saturday, so the small one on Thursday was nice. Later my Uncle Mike (also my Godfather) my Aunt Nancy (also my Godmother) and my Uncle Gary and his family all came over to visit.

Thanksgiving Weekend 2013

Well hello my friends! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. Time to get ready for more holidays. They just never stop this time of year!! There was some sort of Tricky~Tray at one of Doug’s jobs, and he tossed a ticket in a cup for something for me. Look what he won for me! It’s actually a nice little book. The projects are really cute. The best part is the pictures: Now there is a girl who … Read more

Gobble Gobble, Ho Ho Ho!!

As usual, I’m a bit late in posting these pictures.  We had a wonderful time visiting family in Beverly for Thanksgiving.  So much fun in fact, that I frequently forgot to pick up the camera. Ooops. We stayed with my cousin Christine, who hosted a small Thanksgiving at her apartment. Afterwards Tom, her boyfriend, kicked everybody out of the kitchen so that he could clean it all up.  Vada popped in and asked if she could help, and amazingly he said yes.  I had to sneak in to take a picture of Vada carefully loading the dishwasher after Tom rinsed off the plates.

Later Tom came into the living room to let us know there was another photo op.  Vada was busily scrubbing out all of the pots. She is quite the little helper!

Thanksgiving – a little late

I’ve notice my last few posts have been woefully lacking in snaps of cute little girls. I also seem to have missed sharing Thanksgiving with you. So let me remedy both of those now with a (rather late) Thanksgiving post.

It was the smallest Thanksgiving I have been to in many years. Doug, the girls and I went over to Doug’s mothers. It was us, Doug’s mother, stepfather, grandmother, uncle Tom, older brother David and younger brother Tim. His sister Alyson was not there, but she lives a few states away and had just been up the week before and is coming up again for Christmas.

Once we got there, the girls felt right at home. Vada ran in circles around the house, Christmas toys popped around her wrist for a ride.

Kyla was up to her latest game, pretending to be a cat. Isn’t she a cute little kitty? She even meows and likes to have her head scratched. It’s very amusing. The best is when she crawls up to her sister and meows, and then Vada pets her head. So cute!
