Make a post card using a Cricut

That’s exactly what I did for a dear friend of mine who put out a request on Facebook  – her child’s 4th grade class was trying to get post cards from all 50 states but they were missing a few. One of the missing states was NJ, where I happen to live. Of course I told her I would be happy to help out. I thought about it and decided I could to make a post card using a Cricut myself.

Today’s Stitchopedia will be how to make a crochet horseshoe cable. This post contains a chart and video. The horseshoe cable is an is an intriguing cable that is basically two opposite cables pushed next to each other. The horseshoe cable was actually the first knit cable I learned, I really liked it and found it easy to incorporate into my projects. That is the inspiration for this, how to make a crochet horseshoe cable post. Of course I still love making it in knit, but today it’s crochet! If you need a refresher on crochet cables, you can find that HERE, and if you need some help with post stitches, you can find that HERE. Have fun!

I have been known to fold them from cloth napkins at restaurants, programs at events, and little bits of scrap paper. They are just so fun to make, the Origami Crane a favorite piece of origami for you too?

Start the Crane with the Bird Base. The split section should be pointing down as shown. (more…)

Origami has been one of my hobbies since I was 8 years old. Almost all origami pieces start with one of the origami base patterns: a folded form that starts a piece. This is the origami bird base pattern. You can find a list of all the bases I have tutorials for here: https://jessieathome.com/origami-bases/

Start the origami bird base pattern with the Square Base.

OINK OINK ! Here’s how to make an Origami Pig

Origami Pig from Jessie At Home

Isn’t this little guy just adorable? My daughter Kyla loves pigs, and she thinks this one is awesome. He is fairly easy to make. Only one side of the paper is seen on this piece, so it doesn’t matter if your paper is colored on both sides or just one. Happy folding! (more…)
