Wedge

Wedge is a fun striped knit pattern that is easy to create! With some creative uses of increases and decreases a wedge shape is formed. The pattern is essentially a 4 row repeat, but it is written out longer because I’ve included all the color changes for you. However, because it is just a 4 row repeat, it is very easy to continue along to make a larger wrap, just get more Red Heart Gleam yarn to make it larger.

Size:
50″ x 19″

Yarn:
Red Heart Boutique Gleam; Patina 3520: Color A, 1 skein
Red Heart Boutique Gleam; Creamy 3113: Color B, 1 skein
Red Heart Boutique Gleam; Indigo 3850: Color C, 1 skein

Needles:
US-11, 8mm long needles or 24″ or longer circulars

Gauge:
18 sts x 32 rows = 4” [10 cm] in garter

Other supplies:
yarn needle

Stitches and Abbreviations:
k – knit
k2tog – knit 2 together (decrease)
m1 – make 1 (increase)
p – purl
st(s) – stitch(es)

Getting Started:
Use whatever increase you like, as long as you are consistent.

Pattern:
CO 3 With Color A
Rnd 1-7 odd: K all.
Rnd 2: [K1, m1], k2. – {4 sts}
Rnd 4: [K1, m1], k1, k2tog. – {4 sts}
Rnd 6: [K1, m1], k to end. – {5 sts}
Rnd 8: [K1, m1], k until 2 sts remain, k2tog. – {5 sts}
Rnds 9-40: repeat rnds 5-8 eight more times. – {13 sts}

Rnds 41 & 42: With Color B, repeat rnds 5 & 6. – {14 sts}
Rnds 43 & 44: With Color A, repeat rnds 7 & 8. – {14 sts}
Rnds 45-60: Repeat rnds 41-44 four more times. – {18 sts}

Rnds 61-100: With Color B, repeat rnds 5-8 ten times. – {28 sts}

Rnds 101 & 102: With Color C, repeat rnds 5 & 6. – {29 sts}
Rnds 103 & 104: With Color B, repeat rnds 7 & 8. – {29 sts}
Rnds 105-120: Repeat rnds 101-104 four more times. – {33 sts}

Rnds 121-160: With Color C, repeat rnds 5-8 ten times. – {43 sts}

Rnds 161 & 162: With Color A, repeat rnds 5 & 6. – {44 sts}
Rnds 163 & 164: With Color C, repeat rnds 7 & 8. – {44 sts}
Rnds 165-180: Repeat rnds 161-164 four more times. – {48 sts}

Rnds 181-220: With Color A, repeat rnds 5-8 ten times. – {58 sts}

Rnds 221 & 222: With Color B, repeat rnds 5 & 6. – {59 sts}
Rnds 223 & 224: With Color A, repeat rnds 7 & 8. – {59 sts}
Rnds 225-240: Repeat rnds 221-224 four more times. – {63 sts}

Rnds 241-284: With Color B, repeat rnds 5-8 ten times. – {73 sts}
