This Easy Unisex Beanie pattern will help you fulfill your holiday gift list in a flash. With the myriad of colors found in Red Heart Super Saver, you can make this beanie to fit anyone’s personality. You can even accent it with buttons, patches, or flowers to bring some extra flair.

Size:
Toddler (Child, Adult Medium, Adult Large)
Head Measurements: 18 (20, 22, 24)
Hat Measurements: 16 (18, 20, 22)

Yarn:
Worsted weight yarn in two solid colors, or one solid and one variegated, such as Red Heart Super Saver or Red Heart with Love.
38 (46, 55, 60) g per hat (half for each color)

Hook:
US 13/N/9.00 mm crochet hook

Gauge:
7 sts x 4 rows = 4” [10 cm] in dc with 2 strands worked as one

Other supplies:
yarn needle

Stitches and Abbreviations:
ch – chain
dc – double crochet
sl st – slip stitch
sp(s) – space(s)
st(s) – stitch(es)

Getting Started:
Hold 2 strands of yarn together and work as one for entire pattern.
The hat top is written by size, be sure to use the correct size

Hat Top Toddler:
Rnd 1: Ch 3, sl st to first ch made to form a ring, ch 3 (counts as first dc here and throughout), 7 dc in ring, sl st to top of ch 3 to join. – 8 dc
Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in same st, 2 dc in each remaining st around, sl st to top of beginning ch 3 to join. – 16 dc
Rnd 3: Ch 3, dc in same st, dc in next st, [2 dc in next st, dc in next st] 7 times, sl st to top of beginning ch 3 to join. – 24 dc
Rnd 4: Ch 3, dc in same st, dc in next 5 sts, [2 dc in next st, dc in next 5 sts] 3 times, sl st to top of beginning ch 3 to join. – 28 dc

Hat Top Child:
Rnd 1: Ch 3, sl st to first ch made to form a ring, ch 3 (counts as first dc here and throughout), 7 dc in ring, sl st to top of ch 3 to join. – 8 dc
Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in same st, 2 dc in each remaining st around, sl st to top of beginning ch 3 to join. – 16 dc

Hat Sides – all sizes
Rnd 1: Ch 3, dc in next st, dc in each remaining st around, sl st to top of beginning ch 3 to join. – 28 (32, 36, 40) dc
Repeat Rnd 1: 2 (3, 3, 4) more times.

Fasten off and weave in all ends.

    I think I love you for this post ? it’s exactly what I needed. See I was in over my head with a commitment I made to make hats for donation (note to self – find out how many they need before saying yes-lol) running out of time and honestly losing my motivation ? Then I saw this… And it was like a light bulb moment. Thank you so much for sharing. I needed something quick (I’m still about 30 short) warm and unisex. I’ll have them finishes in no time now ?

    I love this pattern, super easy. I worked it up with super chunky bernat yarn and size 10mm hook, instead of two worsted yarns and it turned out so very comfy and worked up so fast!!! I could make ten or so a day! Thank you!

    I used a j/10-5.75 needle i followed the instructions for the toddler hat it made a perfect baby hat.
