I come from a very large Italian family. My mother is the oldest of 11 children. Five of those children and their families live in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The rest are in Florida, Kansas, California, and Japan (my parents travel a lot due to my mom’s job). My brother and his family are in Michigan. I am here, alone, in New Jersey. I get to Massachusetts a few times a year. The holidays always make me miss my family more. This is a happy post, I promise!
You see, my friends, I received a box from my grandparents at the beginning of the week. I didn’t open it right away; I figured it was wrapped presents for Christmas. Then on Wednesday something made me open the box. This is what I found inside.
What is all that? Holiday cheer!! They are the bathroom and bedroom Christmas linens and such that have been used in my Grammy and Grampy’s home for many years. After a bit of a happy cry, I ran to the cleaning cabinet. I gave the bathroom a bit of a scrub, and set to decorating.
Wanna see?
OK,but no long shots. Our bathroom is in desperate need of an overhaul
First, here is the shower curtain, close up.
*Sorry, but I have to take an aside here to let you all know that Vada is currently licking Kyla’s ankles. Kyla is giggling.*
Right, towel rack.
Bath mat.
Shelf over the toilet.
Another towel rack.
That’s it for the bathroom. Here is the bed.
One more snap of the bed.
I am so happy having a little bit of my family here with me for the holidays. It comforts me.
I’ll post picks of our tree and some other decorations soon.
Happy Holidays!
