Happy Thanksgiving! I have a new pattern for you. Thank you for joining me here “At Home”!!
Quick Scrap Yarn Slip Stitch Bracelet
Intermediate Skill Level
Designed by Jessie Rayot
This bracelet is a great way to use up those little balls of yarn you have tucked away! They also make great last minute gifts. You can even choose your team colors to show your spirit. These bracelets work great as wrist warmers as well. You can make them as skinny or wide as you want, and any size you need! I find them very simple to make, but slip stitch crochet is considered an intermediate skill, hence the intermediate listing on this pattern. Enjoy!
Whatever size you want to make!
Pretty much any size “regular” yarn. Not recommended for novelty yarns. The sample in the photos is made with Berroco Vintage Chunky.
Whichever size coordinates with your yarn, or even go up one size to keep your stitches loose
Not important, but you do want to keep your stitches loose so that you don’t have to struggle to make your slip stitches
First, find a little ball of scrap yarn. Check the couch cushions. Find a hook that works with the yarn you have chosen, then get started!
Row 1: Ch until desired height of bracelet is achieved, for the sample I made a ch 5. Now ch one more. Sl st in the bottom loop of the 2nd ch from hook, and in the bottom loop of each remaining ch.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sl st in back loop only of each sl st across row (so if you started with ch 5, plus 1, you will make 5 sl sts in this row)
Repeat row 2 until bracelet is desired length.
Finishing: Fold bracelet in half and sl st together.
With smaller scraps of yarn, you can make stripes. With even smaller scraps, make 2 rows of each color, and tie the ends at the bottom of the bracelet to make little tassels *see photo*. Just have FUN with it!!
