The crochet shell stitch is a versatile stitch that has many variations and can add great texture and design to your creations. The look can vary by making it in multiple colors, or in a solid color. You can make a bunch of interlocked shells, or separate them with other stitches. There are just so many options. Here are 7 free crochet patterns that feature versions of the crochet shell stitch.

Crochet Shell stitch free crochet pattern round up from Jessie At HomePin

Here are the names and links of each pattern.

1) Robin Baby Blanket by Jessie At Home
“The free Robin Baby Blanket pattern is a classic easy to make striped baby blanket. Easy to make because of the easy to crochet box stitches in stripes of 3 colors.”

2) Oh My Blanket by Moogly
“The other Oh My patterns inspired many requests for a blanket – and I do love to crochet blankets! So here is my latest free crochet blanket pattern – the Oh My Blanket!”

3) Spring Scarfie by Sonya Blackstone
“The Spring Scarfie is quick and versatile. It can be doubled over and worn as a scarf or leave it long like a necklace to add a little extra style to your outfit.”

4) La Vie en Rose Ladies Scarf by Kirsten Holloway Designs
“It’s simple and easy to crochet, the texture is subtle, but gorgeous, and the special touches (crab stitched edging, and tassels) really bring this piece to the next level!”

5) Take Me to the Beach Tote by Stitching Together
“I’m off to sunny San Diego…since I’ve known this trip was coming up, I’ve had the beach on my mind. While I most likely won’t have time to dip my toes in the ocean, a good crochet beach bag with beautiful shell stitches is always useful.”

6) Maraschino by Stitches ‘N’ Scraps
“It features a figure-flattering empire waist, and subtle shaping to hug your curves in all the right places. The skirt flares out slightly, just enough for a little bit of a twirly bounce.”

7) Shelby Mitts and Gloves by Sincerely Pam
“This pattern is written in sizes Child Small to Adult Medium and includes both Mitten and Fingerless Glove options. You can also grab the matching Shelby Hat and/or Shelby Triangle Cowl patterns in my Ravelry Shop!”
